Upside "Free Rein" Central Coast Chardonay/Pinot Gris 2013

Normal retail is around $18-19. We have lowest price in the country on this rare white wine from Andrew Vingiello!
90 Wine Advocate
(10/2014) "A serious value that's made from equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, the 2013 Upside Free Rein (which is made by Andrew Vingiello of AP Vin) has pretty apple, citrus blossom and salty minerality to go with a medium-bodied, clean, crisp and decidedly delicious style on the palate. All co-fermented, with no malolactic fermentation, and aged on lees for five months in stainless steel, it's a no brainer purchase..."

De Wetshof "Limestone Hill" Robertson Valley Chardonnay 2016

91 Wine Spectator
(12/15/2016) "A fresh white, with a quinine edge giving the core of green fig, yellow apple and white peach flavors extra zip through the floral-edged finish. Drink now through 2018."

Carneros Highway "Nueva" Carneros Chardonnay 2015

89+ Our Score
(3/2017) Butterscotch, nectarine, ripe apple and toasted almonds all jump from the glass of this well-balanced Chardonnay. Creamy and toasty, it balances old school Chard oak character with new school brightness and agility. A go-to Vin Chicago favorite, this bottling offers something for all Chardonnay lovers.

La Boutanche Rose 2016 1.0 LT

89 Our Score
(5/2017) Ask a majority of Vin Chicago staff what his or her favorite rose is and you will likely be guided here. La Boutanche has quickly become a go-to for high quality, approachable, and affordable natural wines and the rose is no exception! Produced by Quentin Bourse of Le Sot de l'Ange, this proprietary cuvee of a unique strain of Grolleau rarely found outside of Azay le Rideau in the Touraine (and practically unheard of outside of the Loire), is exactly what you want in a daily summer wine. It is bone dry, crunchy, and crisp- think watermelon lemonade with a lingering minerality for added complexity. Stock up now and enjoy all summer long!

La Boutanche Vin de France Gamay 2016

89 Our Score
(5/2017) The Pig is back! Oliver Minot is now solidly at the helm of this Boutanche bottling, which is 100% Gamay from Southern Beaujolais. The juice comes from 70 year old vines planted on limestone soils. Cement tanks are used for fermentation and the wine is bottle with zero SO2. Fresh picked raspberries, black tea and freshly tilled soil notes abound. This eminently chuggable "zero" wine comes in 1 Liter bottles, which is a very good thing considering how delicious this little wine is.

Yalumba "The Strapper" Barossa Valley GSM 2013

91 Wine Enthusiast
90 Wine Advocate
(6/29/2016) "This medium to deeply-colored garnet/purple blend exudes aromas of warm blackberry, chocolate box, spice cake and licorice. The 2013 Samuel's Garden The Strapper Grenache Shiraz Mataro is dominated by Grenache in its medium to full-bodied style; it shows great great expression and is very spicy with some meatiness. The palate is velvety and possesses great length."

Domaine de la Pepiere "Clos des Briords - Cuvee Vieilles Vignes" Sur Lie Muscadet Sevre-et-Maine 2015

90 Vinous, David Schildknecht
(5/2017) "Mossy, wet stone and alkaline notes on the nose convey a greater sense of maturation than I would have expected. But there is ample primary juiciness of apple and lime, and even with a lusher feel than one usually anticipates from Muscadet, there is more than enough cut and vivacity. The finish is invigorating, consummately refreshing, and transparent to a shimmering display of mineral nuances."

Bodegas Vetus "Flor de Vetus" Toro Red 2012

Best Vetus we've ever tasted. Delicious!
92 Our Score
92 Wine Advocate
(6/2014) "Made from 100% Tinta de Toro aged ten months in French and American oak, the full-bodied, complex, dry 2012 Flor de Vetus offers up notes of Provencal herbs, white chocolate and jammy black cherry and blackcurrant fruit. This opulent, chewy, voluptuously textured red comes from high-elevation (2,100 feet) vineyards and represents a stunning value. Drink it over the next 3-4 years."
