89+ Our Score
(12/2016) A blend of 63% Merlot, 14% Syrah, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Petite Verdot and 4% Malbec, this tasty California red provides lots of enjoyment for only $15. Look for pretty aromas of red, black and blue fruits along with a nice dose of oakiness from time spent in used barrels from Opus One! 89 Wine Spectator
90 Wine Enthusiast
(2/1/2016) "Made in a relatively restrained style, this is a dark, juicy and smoky wine from Dry Creek and Alexander Valley area vineyard sites. Lengthy and smooth, it takes a decidedly medium-bodied route, with traces of leather pouch on the nose and a soft layering of milk chocolate on the finish."

Celli "Le Grillaie" Romagna Sangiovese 2015

90+ Our Score
(3/2017) Celli's "Le Grillaie" is a perfectly priced, slightly rustic and totally over-delivering Sangiovese. Produced in stainless steel tanks, without any oak contact, the color is darker and the intensely aromatic nose filled with black cherry, raspberry and purple plum, with a light nuance of black pepper spice and floral note. On the palate, this medium-bodied charmer offers gritty tannins that engage but do not overpower. The result is a charismatic wine that begs to be paired with Italian sausage, braised and grilled meats, hearty red sauce pastas and deep dish pizza.

90 Our Score
90 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
(9/2014). "(Aged in large, old wooden tanks): Light yellow. Pungent, mineral-accented aromas of lemon pith and green apple, with subtle herbal and floral qualities adding complexity. Fleshy and smooth on entry, then tighter in the middle, offering refreshingly bitter lemon zest and quince flavors and a touch of anise. Closes on a minerally note, with very good clarity and length."

Bodega Teso La Monja "Romanico" Toro 2013

91 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
91 Wine Advocate
(11/22/2015) "The 2013 Romanico, 100% Tinta de Toro, was aged six months in 100% new French oak and is exceptional. A wine of considerable intensity, inky purple color, loads of crème de cassis, blackberry, licorice and camphor, the wine is full-bodied, luscious, with low acidity and silky tannin. The high extract and richness suggests this wine can drink well young, or be cellared for another 10-12 years."

Clos du Mont-Olivet "Vieilles Vignes" Cotes du Rhone Rouge 2013

89 Our Score
90 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
(6/2016) "Deep ruby. Spice- and smoke-accented cherry, raspberry and garrigue aromas, along with a subtle licorice nuance. Sappy, focused and energetic on the palate, offering gently sweet red fruit and peppery spice flavors that deepen as the wine opens up. Juicy acidity adds spine and back-end cut, and supple tannins frame a long, refreshingly spicy finish."

Domaine Francis Blanchet "Vielle Vignes" Pouilly Fume 2014

New low price! Regular Vin Chicago retail - $17.99!
90 Our Score
(8/2015) Pouilly Fume, located in the Loire Valley just across the river from Sancerre, has more flinty minerality than its famous neighbor and is just as delicious. Since 1684, Francis Blanchet's family has been carefully cultivating some of the tastiest Sauvignon Blanc in the area. The Vieilles Vignes bottling comes from vines that are 40-50 years old. Lime zest, peach and crushed white rocks dance out of the glass in this mouth-watering wine with a lovely finish of crisp acid and cheese and apple rind. Try it with scallops, goat cheese or ceviche.
