Talley Estate Bottled Arroyo Grande Valley Pinot Noir 2010

90 Wine Advocate
92 International Wine Cellar
"(90% of this fruit came from the Rincon vineyard): Vivid red. Heady, exotic bouquet evokes candied red fruits, potpourri and spicecake, with a mineral topnote. Fresh, penetrating raspberry and bitter cherry flavors show impressive clarity and put on weight with air. Fine-grained tannins give shape to the finish, which leaves sweet red berry and rose pastille notes behind. This must be the best version of this bottling I've yet tasted from Talley."

(2016) "Juicy red cherry, currant and strawberry fruit flavors pave the way in this enticing red. There's plenty of structure underneath, with hints of black pepper and earth on the finish. Best from 2017 through 2026. 300 cases imported."

Domaine des 3 Cellier "Alchimie" Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge 2014

We have been on the hunt for a great Chateauneuf-du-Pape value and struck gold with this incredible Thomas Calder import!
91 Our Score
(10/2016) Filled with delicious fruit flavors of black cherry, raspberry and blackberry, the "Alchimie" from Domaine des 3 Cellier offers up everything a fan of Chateauneuf-du-Pape would expect. The wine is incredibly complex and undeniably "Chateauneuf" with characteristic secondary notes of warm rocky earth, minerals, aromatic herbs, garrigue, a hint of fennel and a whiff of black pepper. This beauty is powerful, but with remarkable balance and freshness. An outstanding value to enjoy now with an hour decanting or to cellar for enjoyment over the next decade.

Jean-Marc Millot Cotes de Nuits Villages 2014

92 Our Score
(5/2017) This extremely well-made wine is one of the best Burgundy bargains we have come across in a long time. Aromas of red fruits and mineral lead to fresh, juicy and quite delicious cherry and currant flavors on the palate. Leaves with a lingering silky finish.

Jean-Paul Thevenet "Vieilles Vignes" Morgon 2013

93 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
(12/2014) "Vivid ruby. Sexy, highly perfumed aromas of fresh raspberry and candied rose, with white pepper, allspice and blood orange notes adding complexity. Silky, seamless and fine-grained, offering lively, appealingly sweet red fruit flavors and a touch of spicecake. Shows excellent energy and focus on the mineral-driven finish, which displays a repeating raspberry note and even tannins. This wine is made from fruit grown in two different parcels, one planted in the late 1960s and the other over 110 years ago."

Melville Sta. Rita Hills Estate Chardonnay 2014

92 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(6/2016) "The 2014 Chardonnay (Sta. Rita Hills) is rich and powerful in the glass, yet also shows good energy and overall translucence, especially for such an ample, broad-shouldered wine. Orange blossom, mint, spice and butter are front and center. With time in the glass, more tropically-leaning notes begin to develop. This, too, is, very nicely done. Drinking window: 2017 - 2022."

Domaine des Marnes Blanches Cremant de Jura NV

89 Our Score
(4/2017) Pauline and Geraud Fromont, natives of the Jura, began Domaine des Marnes Blanches in 2006 as ambitious 20-somethings with a background in farming. Their vineyard holdings are spread throughout three villages within the Jura, the first located in Cesancey, which features their namesake "white marl" soil. Their natural sensibility, which is common among winemakers in the southern part of the Jura, begins in the vineyard where they have farmed organically since the opening of the domain. They practice minimal intervention in the cellar, from native yeast fermentation to low sulfur addition and only when necessary. Their cremant is produced from 100% Chardonnay fermented in stainless steel prior to spending between 12 and 16 months on the lees and bottled with no dosage. The nose bursts with citrus and tropical fruit, while the palate gives satisfyingly rich texture integrated with a fine mousse. Completely dry, with notes of honey, apricot, and almond. This would be really great with some hard salty cheese and charcuterie.

Marchesi de Frescobaldi "Nipozzano Vecchie Viti" Chianti Rufina Riserva 2012

91 Our Score
92 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(9/2015) "The 2012 Chianti Rufina Riserva Nipozzano Vecchie Viti possesses compelling purity and class. Freshly cut flowers, sweet raspberries, mint and spices are all beautifully delineated in the glass. A wine of energy and nuance, the 2012 is impeccable from start to finish. This mid-weight, gracious Chianti Rufina should drink well for another decade, give or take."
