Domaine Lafage "Miraflors" Cotes du Roussillon Rose 2016

91 Wine Advocate
(4/28/2017) "Light in color, yet not in flavor, the 2016 Côtes du Roussillon Miraflors Rose (60% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre and 10% Carignan) offers terrific notes of white cherries, strawberries and rose petals in a medium-bodied, layered, impeccably balanced style that's just hard to resist. A Tribute to Grace Santa Barbara County Grenache Rose 2016

91 Our Score
(4/2017) A Tribute to Grace is the label of Angela Osborne, a New Zealand born winemaker who moved to California in 2006 to focus on her passion for Grenache. We've loved her Rose for the past two vintages but allocations were too small to feature it. We are thrilled that more came to Chicago this year, and it might be her best vintage yet! The interplay between delicate weightlessness and power is seamless. High toned floral notes of hibiscus and orange blossom are balanced by delicious red berries and candied orange rind, leading into a zesty, mineral-driven finish. A soulful Rose to drink now, and with enough of structure to consider cellaring until next year.

Alpha Estate Xinomavro Rose 2016

91 Wine Advocate
(4/28/2017) "The 2016 Rosé is a Xinomavro sourced from the Hedgehog area of the Amyndeon Plateau. It comes in at 13% alcohol. Very Provençal in style, this dry pink with pale salmon color is a beauty again this year. Refined and sophisticated, it does everything well, showing enough focus and grip to hold up to food while being restrained enough to drink nicely on its own. Drink Date 2017 - 2020." (Greece)

Chateau La Mascaronne "Quat 'saisons" Cotes de Provence Rose 2016

90+ Our Score
(5/2017) The 2015 vintage of this wine was one of our absolute favorite Roses last year, and this 2016 bottling is just as good, if not better, showing a bit more top note tension. Blending Cinsault and Carignan from certified organically grown vineyards in the Cotes de Provence, La Mascaronne offers everything one could ask for in a bottle of Rose: delicious red fruit flavors, suggestions of herbs, minerality, a wonderfully rich mouthfeel, and lively, mouthwatering acidity to balance all the elements. Very well done!

Domaine des Cotes Blanches Sancerre Rose 2016

Everyone knows that white Sancerre is made from Sauvignon Blanc. Many are not aware that the region also has a small amount of acreage planted to Pinot Noir. This is what makes a Sancerre Rosé. It is delicous and rare, so do not pass it up!
90 Our Score
The Côtes Blanches Rosé is made from 45-year-old vines, sustainably grown on clay and limestone soil. The nose is delicious, with aromas of sour cherry, wild strawberry, watermelon and just a hint of rocky earth. In the mouth, the wine is ripe, fleshy and rich, with zingy fruit flavors and a wonderful zippiness that finishes long and crisp.

(4/2017) Rosé sales were at a fever pitch last year and the demand for Pinot Noir Rosé was incredible! We start out this season's offerings with a big-time winner from the Pfalz region of Germany made entirely from Spätburgunder, aka Pinot Noir. Domaine Benjamin Taillandier "6 Roses" Vin de France Rose 2015

New low price! Regular Vin Chicago retail - $19.99!
90 Our Score
(3/2017) Benjamin Taillandier makes wines that are much lighter and lower in alcohol than what you would typically find in the Languedoc. His "6 Roses" rose is no exception. This is not your standard juicy fruit forward rose, but something much more complex. A year in the bottle has allowed the wine to shed the initial primary fruit elements and instead intensifies mineral flavors, chalky wet stone, cured meat, and tart raspberry. This bright blend of Cinsault, Syrah, and Carignan takes a little time to open but give it an hour or so and you will be intrigued by this unique rose expression.

Beckham Estate "Olivia's" Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noir Rose 2015

New low price! Regular Vin Chicago retail - $17.99!
90 Our Score
(4/2016) A Rosé of 100% Pinot Noir from estate grown fruit on Andrew and Annedria Beckham's high elevation property in the Chehalem Mountains. The fruit was harvested in two passes, about a week apart. The first pass provided grapes with racy, refreshing acidity. The second pass added depth, fruit and flavor. The final result is a delicious and refreshing Rosé with notes of watermelon, cherry, cherry blossom and strawberry. The light body and crisp acidity make it easy (and fun) to drink. Enjoy throughout spring and summer with sushi, grilled sausage, grilled fish or all on its own!

Richvale "Pool Party Pink" Santa Barbara County Rose 2016

90 Our Score
(7/2017) Richvale Wine Co. is the new whimsical project from Sans Liege's Curt Schalchlin. On this go around, Curt is focusing more on nuance and energy instead of his customary power and muscle. The fruit comes from an organically farmed vineyard in the Santa Barbara Highlands, the same site that Angela Osborn sources some of her Grenache from. It is a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Mourvedre. The wine was fermented with native yeasts and was foot-trodden with the help of the "Dirty & Rowdy" boys. On the palate, the wine's bright acidity lends to a fresh and invigorating mouthfeel. Orange zest and rind, slightly under-ripe watermelon and tart cranberries are backed by nice minerality. This is fantastic rose, and the tongue in cheek packaging only further enhances the appeal.

Fleshy and concentrated yet lithe as well, offering gently sweet red fruit and bitter orange pith flavors that are given spine by a core of tangy acidity. Tangy and focused on the palate, which displays floral red cherry flavors and a hint of pomegranate. Finishes clean and tart, with dusty tannins providing a pleasantly tactile bite. 88-89 Our Score
(4/2017) We've been huge fans of the red and white "Owl" wines from J. Mourat and are thrilled to now also have their Rosé. This dry pink wine - which comes in a very cool bottle - is sourced from western France, just south of Muscadet. Its blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Negrette and Gamay is totally unique.
