Bodegas Borsao "Tres Picos" Campo de Borja Garnacha 2014

#39 - Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2016!
91 Wine Spectator
92 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
90 Wine Advocate
The outstanding 2014 Tres Picos (Garnacha) is 100% Grenache and comes from some of their oldest Grenache vineyards on the slopes of the Moncayo Mountains. Yields are less than two tons of fruit per acre and this wine was aged in neutral French oak and stainless-steel tanks for ten months prior to bottling. It's a beautiful wine, with plenty of Southern Rhône-like black cherry liqueur, garrigue, pepper, licorice and spice. It is medium to full-bodied, lusty and heady. This is a beauty to drink over the next 2-3 years.

Bodegas Ateca "Atteca" Old Vines Calatayud Garnacha 2013

91 Our Score
91 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
(12/2015) "Dark purple. Ripe cherry and blueberry aromas are energized by a spicy note, picking up suggestions of candied flowers and vanilla with aeration. Round and pliant in the mouth, offering ripe red and dark berry liqueur flavors with a hint of spicecake. A seamless, clinging finish features harmonious tannins, building sweetness and repeating spicy and floral flourishes. All of the fruit that would normally go into the estate's top-end Aromas bottling was blended into this this wine, which received 25% new French oak aging."

Filon Calatayud Old Vines Garnacha 2015

90 Our Score
(1/2017) The 2015 Filón is beautifully aromatic and simply delicious on the palate. The nose is an engaging combination of flowers, spice and red fruits. On the palate it is soft, smooth and silky with a warming finish. A real crowd-pleaser, this clean, well-made wine is a steal for under $10.
