It's been a while since we've featured a Txakolina from Spain's Basque country, and this one rocks!

(4/2017) Founded in 2001, the Bengoetxe vineyards were farmed organically from day one. In 2007 they became the first winery in the region to achieve organic certification. The family takes great pride in producing only this one bottling. Fermentation takes place in small vats (in their garage) using only wild yeasts. The wine spends a year on its lees with no stirring, and they do not inject additional CO2. The result is a bright and zesty white with more roundness and less spritz then is common for wines of the region. It's like a cross between a dry German Riesling and a Loire Valley Muscadet, perfect for seafood and wonderfully refreshing to drink on its own!
