Domaine Fourrier 1er Cru "Les Goulots" Vieilles Vigne Gevrey Chambertin 2013

91-93 Burghound
91-94 Vinous, Stephen Tanzer
(1/2015) "Dark red with ruby highlights. Aromas of blueberry, raspberry, leather and game, lifted by a crushed stone element. In a supple, ripe style, but with terrific sappy intensity and lift to the crushed raspberry and mineral flavors. The tannins are fine-grained and sweet. A stunning example of this calcaire-rich premier cru."

Domaine Marcel Lapierre Morgon 2015 3.0 LT

93 Wine Advocate
(8/30/2016) "The 2015 Morgon has a clean and vibrant bouquet with perfumed dark cherries, redcurrant, a touch of gravel and touches of rose petal. The palate is nicely structured, brimming over with energy. The acidity is very well judged, quite sturdy as Morgon should be, no hard edges here but just the background "hum" of tension from start to finish. This is just a superb Morgon from Mathieu and Camille Lapierre."

Bruno Clavelier Chambolle Musigney 2008

92+ Vinous, Stephen Tanzer
90-93 Burghound
(1/2010) "This is even more elegant and refined than the Noirots and more complex aromatically as well with a minerally, cool and sublimely rendered pinot fruit that runs primarily toward the red side of the spectrum that is followed by beautifully detailed, racy and remarkably fine middle weight flavors that culminate in a linear and borderline strict finish as there is some austerity. This delivers a striking combination of power and finesse with excellent finishing drive. Drink: 2016+"

Domaine Henri Gouges "Les Pruliers" Nuits St Georges 1er Cru 2012

91-94 Vinous, Stephen Tanzer
93-96 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(1/2014) "Gouge's 2012 Nuits St. Georges Les Pruliers is less immediate than some of the other wines in the range. Here it is the crystalline purity of the aromas and flavors that stands out most. Violets, plums, licorice, sweet spices and tar are all woven together in a wine that shows the finesse Nuits can at times achieve. The tannins are firm yet also impeccable in their silkiness. Structurally quite classic, the 2012 will reward cellaring."

Domaine Robert Denogent "La Croix" Vieilles Vignes Pouilly-Fuisse 2013

90 Burghound
(10/15/2015) "The 2013 Pouilly-Fuissé "La Croix Vieilles Vignes" comes from 80+ year old vines planted in soils with a high proportion of schist. Here the wood treatment is a bit more subtle though it's not invisible as the cool and exotic aromas can more easily be appreciated. There is better intensity and a bit better detail as well to the middle weight flavors that terminate in a saline and mineral-infused finale that is both focused and impressively persistent. This balanced effort should reward 3 to 5 years of cellaring. Drink: 2018+."

Domaine Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin "Grenouilles" Grand Cru Chablis 2015

94 Our Score
90-92 Burghound
(10/2016) "Here too there is a discreet touch of wood setting off the ripe yet cool nose of green fruit, pear, apple and algae scents. There is once again excellent volume and richness to the intense medium weight plus flavors that terminate in a zesty, even tangy finale where the wood telegraphed by the nose reappears."

Camille Giroud Vosne-Romanee 2010

Burghound's review was tasted out of barrel in 2012. We tasted this out of bottle in November 2015 and it blew us away!

(11/2015) The grapes for this bottling are purchased from one grower who owns an old-vine parcel in the lieu-deit of Chalandins. This is important to note, as this is what makes this a truly great "village-level" wine and an excellent value for high-quality Burgundy. After first opening, the wine shows it's smoky and spicy character with a hint of button mushroom and dried cherries. After some time, it really opens up and the gorgeous fruit emerges with layers of complexity from spcies, earth and minerality. The palate is round, rich and precise with impeccable balance and an extremely long finish. Our sample bottle continued to improve during four days of tasting!

An exceptional value for a seriously delicious 1er Cru Puligny!

91 Burghound
(6/2015) "There is a vaguely exotic character to the elegant aromas of acacia blossom, citrus and delicately spiced pear that is in keeping with the cool, precise, intense and stony medium-bodied flavors that brim with dry extract and saline elements before culminating in a clean and beautifully well-detailed finale. Good stuff and I very much like the balance."

Domaine Bruno Colin Chassagne-Montrachet 2013

93+ Our Score
(5/2016) Famed grower Bruno Colin crushed it in 2013. We were lucky enough to taste this wine in Bruno's cellar last year. Now that it's here, it tastes even better! Wonderfully complex, it has a noticeably creamy texture and screaming acidity. Intense minerality is balanced out properly with flavors of pear and ripe citrus. Very long on the finish. Drinking well now, it will be even better in 3-4 years.

Domaine Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin "Vaudesir" Grand Cru Chablis 2015

93+ Our Score
90-92 Burghound
(10/2016) "This is one of the freshest wines in the range and with good Chablis character in the form of oyster shell, iodine, sea breeze and ripe floral scents. There is impressive richness to the very generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a powerful, mildly austere and solidly persistent finish. Oddly for Vaudésir this is almost rustic at present though this may change with a few years of bottle age."
