Clos i Terrasses "Clos Erasmus" Priorat 2014

97 Wine Advocate
(10/28/2016) "There is a little more Syrah in the blend of the 2014 Clos Erasmus, where it reached around 30% to complement the majority of Garnacha. As is the norm, the wine matured for some 18 months before bottling, with most of the volume in French oak barrels, 40% of which are renewed each vintage, but there are also one or two amphorae. I tasted it next to the 2013 and as the 2013 required so much attention, it took some time to get to the 2014. It showed a bit shy at first, but when I finally came back to it, I found that it had really blossomed with a mixture of violets, ground, smoky meat and black raspberries. The slight increase in Syrah was noticeable, but it somehow also seemed to increase the voice of the slate in the bottle. The palate is medium to full-bodied with wonderful balance and elegance combined with inner strength. This is simply terrific. 3,000 bottles were filled at the end of May 2016. Drink Date: 2016 - 2025."

Clos i Terrasses "Laurel" Priorat 2014

95 Wine Advocate
(10/28/2016) "I was really blown away by the aromatics of the 2014 Laurel. As soon as I put my nose in the glass I was transported to the vineyards of Gratallops, with a blast of wild herbs and flowers followed by a stream of smoked meat, juicy red currants and raspberries. It is mostly Garnacha but with some 10% each Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes are cooled down during the night and in the morning some are destemmed, and some others are left with the stems on and fermented mostly with indigenous yeasts. The élevage here is one year in a combination of used oak barrels, oak vats, cement and amphorae. They have increased the volume of wine being raised in amphorae in this 2014. This might very well be the finest Laurel to date. Simply stunning!"

Cellar Can Blau 'Mas de Can Blau" Montsant 2010

92 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
91 Wine Spectator
92 Wine Enthusiast
(2/1/2014) "Oaky, inky, modern and full of power, this Montsant blend of Carignan, Syrah and Garnacha is toasty and dark as night on the bouquet. The palate feels ripe and intense, with creamy oak and controlled tannins. Flavors of baked black fruits, cocoa and vanilla finish soft and supple, with just enough tannic grip and acidity to maintain focus. Drink from 2014-2020."

Terroir al Limit "Historic" Priorat Blanc 2015

91 Wine Advocate
(10/2016) "The new white 2015 Terroir Históric is a blend of 75% Garnacha Blanca and 25 % Macabeo from organically-farmed vineyards across different villages of Priorat, mostly on llicorella slate soils. It fermented with indigenous yeasts after a direct pressing of the bunches and matured in cement tanks for six months. The wine is fermented with whole clusters, so it's a bit of an "orange" character, with structure and tannin, much more serious, showing the naked character of Garnacha Blanca, which to me dominates over the Macabeo (known as Viura in Rioja). The blend represents approximately the percentages found of the two white grapes in Priorat. The wine really represents Priorat. And I love these classical labels... There are 6,000 bottles produced."

Terroir al Limit "Historic" Priorat 2015

90+ Wine Advocate
(10/2016) "Same as the white, there is also a red 2015 Terroir Históric, in this case a blend of 75% Garnacha and the rest Cariñena, sourced from different villages, mostly from llicorella soils. The full clusters fermented with indigenous yeasts and it also matured in cement for six months before bottling. The 2015 vintage was a warm, ripe vintage, and the wine is round and with moderate acidity. The character is quite reductive, so the wine needs air. "I had a bottle that was open for two days, and it was fantastic," Dominik Huber told me. But it's not a nasty reduction, in fact it's quite pleasant, because it's a mineral reduction, if you know what I mean. It makes me think of flint stone and something smoky even. The wine is light "and digestible," added Dominik. "If I open one of my wines at home, it's an Históric." Quite light, as if it was a Gamay from Priorat. 6,000 bottles were filled in April 2016. The idea here is to have serious growth. "Let's see how the market moves, but I can do up to 100,000 bottle of this, but perhaps the limit the market takes is 50,000. We'll see..."

Celler Dosterras "Vespres" Montsant 2010

92 Our Score
94 Wine & Spirits
"The aroma of this wine is almost hallucinogenic, a wild mix of earth, blackberries and raspberries. The mouth is juicy, powered by the wine's fruit with eccentric little details of meatiness and earthiness that focus on its originality and distinction. Vespres is an old-vine blend of garnacha (80 percent) and mazuelo."

Mestres "Coquet" Gran Reserva Brut Nature Cava 2009

92 Our Score
(8/2015) Wow! What a great bottle of bubbly! The Cava house of Mestres is based in the village of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, right in the heart of the finest area for Cava in Penedès. This bone-dry sparkler spent 40 months on its lees. (Most Champagne spends only 15 months!) The blend is a traditional 40% Xarello, 30% Macabeo and 30% Parellada, some of which is aged in old chestnut barrels. With a wonderfully rich texture, precise acidity and flavors of honeyed, nutty orchard fruit, this serious bubbly could easily be mistaken for a $40 Champagne!
