Cayuse "God Only Knows" Armada Vineyard Walla Walla Valley Grenache 2013

94 Wine Advocate
(6/2016) "Grenache seemed to handle the heat nicely in 2013 and the 2013 Grenache God Only Knows Armada Vineyard offers a gorgeous, rich, almost masculine style (especially when it's tasted next to the No Girls Grenache) in its dark fruits, crushed herbs, mineral and leather scented profile. Even showing a touch of game with time in the glass, this beauty has fine tannin, plenty of fruit and a great finish, all suggesting it will drink nicely for another decade."

Cayuse "En Cerise" Walla Walla Valley Syrah 2014

94-96 Wine Advocate
(6/2016) "The 2014 Syrah En Cerise was a touch more streamlined and reticent on this occasion, yet still offers beautiful black cherry and cassis fruits, underbrush and a hint of espresso roast in a full-bodied, silky, elegant style. Like all of Christophe's wines, it will benefit from short-term cellaring."

Leonetti Walla Walla Valley Sangiovese 2012

94 Wine Advocate
(6/2015) "The finest vintage of this cuvee to date, the 2012 Walla Walla Sangiovese exhibits brilliant black cherry, dusty spice, leather and crushed herb-like qualities to go with a medium to full-bodied, layered, exceedingly pure profile on the palate. The blend here is 80% Sangiovese, 12% Syrah and 8% Aglianico, all of which spent 22 months in neutral puncheons and oval botti. I don't have much experience with track record of this variety, but I've no doubt this will continue to evolve nicely for at least another decade."

K Vintners "The Cattle King" Snipes Mountain Syrah 2013

98 Wine Advocate
(6/2016) "The 2013 Syrah Cattle King is a smokin', layered, sexy, voluptuous Syrah that does everything right. Coming from the River Rock Vineyard in Walla Walla and the Upland Vineyard in Snipes Mountain, not destemmed and brought up all in larger barrels, this beauty offers a sensational perfume of smoked meats, pepper, licorice, black olives and assorted ripe black fruits. Deep, layered and concentrated, yet always light on its feet and elegant, this fabulous Syrah has a terrific mid-palate, a core of sweet fruit and blockbuster length. It's a tour de force in vintage and certainly one of the top wines. It needs a decant if drinking anytime soon, but should be at its best from 2020 to 2038."

Forgeron Cellars "Anvil" Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Only 239 cases produced of this Cabernet from Pepper Bridge (60%) and Minnick Hills (40%) vineyards. We managed to pry seven cases away from the winery and are thrilled to be offering them this month!
94 Wine Advocate
(5/6/2016) "The greatest wine I've tasted from this estate, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Anvil checks in as 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that was raised in new French oak barrels. It's a big, rich, decadently styled effort that offers beautiful red and black currants, cassis, underbrush, graphite and hints of wild herbs in a full-bodied, pure, layered and textured package that never comes across as heavy or cumbersome. Drink Date: 2020 - 2040."

K Vintners "El Jefe" Wahluke Slope Tempranillo 2012

94 Wine Advocate
(6/2015) "A grape that continues to impress, Smith's 2012 El Jefe Tempranillo Stoneridge Vineyard saw one of the higher percentages of new oak, spending 23 months in 40% new French oak. It gives up classic Tempranillo notes of kirsch and blackberry fruits, vanilla, saucisson and spice to go with a mouth-filling, layered, nicely concentrated profile on the palate. The tannin clamp down on the finish, so give it another year or two in the cellar. Drink: 2017-2027."

New low price! Regular Vin Chicago retail - $59.99!
95 Wine Advocate
(6/2014) "Aged in 100% new 500 liter barrels, the 2011 Syrah The Hidden Northridge Vineyard is an incredible Syrah that gives up pure aromas and flavors of blackberry, ground pepper, minerality, and dried spices and hints of vanilla in its full-bodied, elegant and seamless profile. Slightly more mid-weight than prior vintages, yet with beautiful concentration and solid mid-palate depth, it has enough tannin and richness to evolve gracefully for over a decade as well."

K Vintners "Morrison Lane" Walla Walla Valley Syrah 2013

95 Wine Advocate
(6/2016) "Another wine that overachieves is the 2013 Syrah Morrison Lane. Easily the best vintage of this cuvee to date, it has a killer bouquet of olive tapenade, grounded, peppered meats and a core of darker fruits. Medium to full-bodied, seamless, elegant and with fine tannin, it's terrific and will drink nicely for 10-15 years."

K Vintners "River Rock" Walla Walla Valley Syrah 2012

92 Wine Enthusiast
94 Wine Advocate
(6/2015) "Another classic Walla Walla Syrah, the 2012 Syrah River Rock Vineyard comes from the southern end of the Walla Walla Valley and the region known as "The Rocks." Giving up lots of damp earth, underbrush, pepper, iron and tobacco leaf, it's full-bodied, loaded with fruit and texture, and has good tannin that come through on the finish. These hedonistic beauties from this terroir always drink nicely in their youth, yet they surprise in the cellar as well and have lengthy drink window. In this case, I suspect this will be better in a year, and have 10-12 years or more of total longevity."
