Bodegas Avancia Valdeorras Godello 2015

This stuff is incredible! Parker's write-up makes quite a bold statement. Lovers of serious white wines, do not miss this one!

(8/2016) "The 2015 Godello (Green Label) is aged ten months sur lie in French demi-muids and puncheons, seeing no stainless steel. The wine is a completely different style, as the vines for this cuvée are dry-farmed Godello bush vines planted 1904-1910. This is the equivalent of a Premier Cru, possibly a Grand Cru Chablis, with terrific stony minerality (notions of wet pebbles) as well as a touch of tangerine oil, orange blossom and apple skin. Crisp, medium-bodied, beautifully textured and long, this is a stunner and worth the full retail price of $25.00. Drink it over the next several years."

Kabaj Goriska Brda Rebula 2012

(8/2015) "The color of a tropical sunrise, this gained its orange hue from 30 days macerating on the skins. And like Jean-Michel Morel's best wines, it improves over the course of several days. It starts with light floral aromas and densely textured flavors of peach and apricot edged in savory herbs and roasted nuts. More intense aromas appear after exposure to air-orange blossom, beeswax and tangerine-with flavors of barely-ripe nectarine, kiwi and citrus, the fruit flavors taking over as the savory notes recede. Still going strong on the third day, the fruit gains intensity as more layers of flavor appear-jasmine, wildflower honey, fresh and dried apricot, with a cool citrus character that keeps the flavors fresh. A textural wine that buzzes with energy, never feeling heavy or oxidized, this delicious and compelling ribolla is worth seeking out."

Pazo Cilleiro Rias Baixas Albarino 2015

Bright, salty and clean. A classic Albariño!

(8/2016) "From the owners of Bodegas Muriel, in Rioja, this is the second vintage of Pazo Cilleiro. Made from a selection of vines in Salnés, it feels fresh and alive, moving throughout the mouth with graceful acidity (the wine did not undergo malolactic) and a fine leesiness that tap dances on the tongue. Its citrus flavors are layered with herbal notes that predominate in the end, leaving a fresh and crisp memory."

Bodega Vina Nora "Nora" Rias Baixas Albarino 2015

90 Our Score
(11/2016) This incredible Albariño is bright, fresh and vibrant with flavors of green apple, pear and a touch of orange Creamsicle. The plumpness and round palate texture of this medium-bodied wine is balanced with mouthwatering acidity and a long, salt-laden finish. Grab fresh seafood of any kind and enjoy!

Bodegas La Cana Rias Baixas Albarino 2015

(1/2017) "(fermented in stainless steel tanks and large French oak barrels, followed by eight months of aging on its lees in the same tanks and barrels) Pale green-hued yellow. Highly perfumed pear, orange zest and jasmine scents are energized by a chalky mineral accent. Vibrant, sharply focused citrus and orchard fruit flavors show good heft and breadth, and an undertone of florality gains volume with air. Concentrated but also lithe; the persistent, penetrating finish delivers firm mineral cut and a touch of dusty minerality."
