Catena "Nicolas Catena Zapata" Mendoza Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

95 Wine Advocate
94 Vinous, Stephen Tanzer
(10/2016) "(14% alcohol; 6.5 g/l acidity; 3.45 pH): Bright ruby-red. Very pure, multifaceted nose offers black fruits, dusty spices, game, leather and minerals. Plush on entry, then classically dry and uncompromising, showing a lovely light touch and terrific violet lift to its sharply delineated flavors of cassis, menthol, licorice, bitter chocolate and saline minerality. Very claret-like in a St. Julien way. This wonderfully suave, still-primary wine, from a small, cool harvest, finishes with sneaky breadth, fine-grained tannins and captivating spicy lift."

Terrazas de los Andes "Las Compuertas" Lujan de Cuyo Mendoza Malbec 2011

97 James Suckling
(6/11/2014) "There is a clarity and purity to this malbec with dark berries, pepper, rose petal, violets. Even cloves. Full body, with wonderfully fine tannins and a polished and beautiful finish. It lasts for minutes on the finish. Such precision. Better in 2016 but so gorgeous now."

Zorzal "Eggo Filoso" Gualtallary Pinot Noir 2014

92 Wine Advocate
(8/2015) "The 2014 Eggo Filoso Pinot Noir is produced with fruit from Gualtallary. It fermented after carbonic maceration in cement vats and like the whole Eggo line, it matured in cement eggs for some nine months and never saw any oak. Pale-colored, floral and showing a lactic touch, it is earthier than the Gran Terroir. The palate is medium-bodied, with floral flavors, very good acidity and a fine texture. 6,000 bottles produced."

Catena "Alta" Mendoza Malbec 2013

94 Wine Advocate
(12/30/2016) "I had two vintages to taste of a blend from their best vineyards, Angelica (Lunlunta), La Piramide (Agrelo), Nicasia (Altamira) and Adrianna (Gualtallary), one of them the 2013 Catena Alta Malbec, from a cool vintage that produced very balanced and fresh wines. There is contained ripeness and subtle aromas, harmonious, with unnoticeable oak aromas. The palate is medium-bodied, with soft, polished tannins and great acidity."

Catena "Alta" Mendoza Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

94 James Suckling
93 Wine Advocate
(12/2016) "The 2013 Catena Alta Cabernet Sauvignon is ultra classical, with textbook varietal aromas and great freshness. The climatic conditions of the growing season seem to have worked perfectly for Cabernet in the higher altitude zones and this is a great example. The palate has very fine tannins and lively acidity. There is superb balance here. 30,000 bottles produced."

Bodegas Mendel "Unus" Mendoza Red Blend 2012

95 James Suckling
93 Wine Advocate
93 Wine Enthusiast
(2/1/2015) "Editors' Choice - With oak-driven aromas of mocha, coffee, cedar and berry fruits, this blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot is effusive on the nose. Concentrated and huge, but well balanced, it offers high-volume berry, herb, chocolate and spice flavors-the lynchpins of excellent wines. Spicy, long and elegant on the finish, this is the real deal. Drink through 2021."

Vina Cobos "Bramare" Lujan de Cuyo Malbec 2012

A powerful and hugely pleasing bottling from the legendary Paul Hobbs. One of the best Malbecs we have ever tasted.

92 Vinous, Stephen Tanzer
(2/2015) "Bright, full ruby-red. Aromas of blackberry, black raspberry, licorice, dark chocolate and sweet oak spices are lifted by a violet topnote. Creamy and subtly sweet, with high-class oak and nicely integrated acidity giving shape to the flavors of black raspberry, currant and dark chocolate. This very glossy wine finishes with fine-grained tannins and lovely persistence. Balanced from day one but has the density to evolve slowly and positively in bottle. Drinking window 2017 - 2023"

Catena "Alta" Mendoza Chardonnay 2014

91 Wine Advocate
(12/30/2016) "The 2014 Catena Alta Chardonnay is always a blend of grapes from two vineyards in the Valle de Uco, Adrianna in Gualtallary and Domingo in Villa Bastias. It has a heady, ripe nose with some smoky notes and hints of nuts, and a terribly tasty palate with deep flavors and great persistence, savory, almost salty."
