Muller-Catoir Mussbach Riesling Kabinett 2011

91+ Our Score
90 Wine Advocate
(3/2014) "Muller-Catoir's 2011 Mussbacher Riesling Kabinett features ripe peach, persimmon and musk melon tinged with caraway, celery seed, and bacon fat as if a bit of Gewurztraminer had been blended in. But a threading of fresh lime enlivens a silken-textured and buoyant palate not nearly as soft as the nose had led me to anticipate. The hint of citrus here is joined by a mouthwatering touch of salinity in a long, luscious finish. I would plan on enjoying this by 2018 in contexts where it judicious but generous sweetness is welcome."

Brand Pfalz Riesling Trocken 2015

90 Our Score
(6/2017) Daniel and Jonas Brand are fifth generation winemakers in the Pfalz region of Germany. The brothers have fully embraced the holistic biodynamic approach in both their vineyards and cellars. This entry level Riesling is everything you could want in a fresh and crisp white, especially because it comes in a liter bottle! The wine is salty with bits of lime zest and tart green apples. The acidity is searing and leaves one smacking their lips in anticipation of more. Taste this and it will surely become your new go-to for BYOB outings.

Von Winning "Winnings" Pfalz Qualitatswein Riesling 2014

89 Vinous, David Schildknecht

90 Our Score
(3/2016) This slightly sweet Riesling is sourced from several vineyards in Forst and Deidesheim and exclusively produced for Terry Theise's Germany portfolio. Fermented in Doppelstücks (2,400-liter) and stainless steel, the wine is juicy and fresh, offering flinty apple and lime flavors on the nose and palate. Very well made.

Schwedhelm Estate Trocken Pfalz Riesling 2015

90 Our Score
(3/2017) Our good friend Robert Houde discovered a diamond in the rough with this tiny producer. Schwedhelm produced this trocken (dry) wine from certified organic grapes sourced from limestone strewn soils in the Pfalz region of Germany. The deep straw color is unique at this price point and is deliciously followed by flavors of ripe citrus and intense minerality. From the very exciting 2015 vintage, this wine tastes more expensive than it is.
