Foradori "Granato" Teroldego Rosso 2011

94 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(5/2015) "Pomegranate, wild cherries, flowers, mint, leather and sweet spices abound in the 2011 Granato. Sexy and radiant to the core, the Granato is especially seamless in this vintage, with voluptuous fruit, silky tannins and exceptional overall balance. I imagine the 2011 will provide consumers with a wide window of drinking pleasure. Today, the fruit is naturally quite primary, so readers who prefer more shades of nuance will want to cellar the 2011 for at least a few years."

Terlano "Vorberg Alto Adige Riserva Pinot Bianco 2013

New low price! Regular Vin Chicago Retail - $42.99!
93 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(5/2016) "A rich, unctuous wine, the 2013 Pinot Bianco Riserva Vorberg offers striking depth and nuance, with an extra kick of oiliness from the beautifully ripe fruit. Succulent peach and apricot notes open up first, followed by an expressive mélange of dried flowers, mint, herbs and candied lemon peel. The 2013 is rich, distinctive and capable of aging nicely for another decade, perhaps longer."

Foradori Vigneti delle Dolomiti Teroldego 2014

92 Our Score
(5/2017) This wine, from the inimitable Elisabetta Foradori, is one of the most exciting sub-$25 reds we've tasted this year. Grown at her property in the foothills of northeast Italy's Dolomite Mountains, the beauty and soul of this black rock mineral-driven wine absolutely blew us away. Made from the region's indigenous Teroldego grape varietal, and farmed with organic and biodynamic practices, the wine offers deep and pure red and black fruit notes. With a hint of smoke, olive, and salumi, some might make comparisons to Northern Rhone Syrah, but with a sense of softness and polish that is totally unique to the wines of Elisabetta. A wine of vitality, authenticity, and deliciousness, it stands alone in a category of distinctiveness and value.

Andriano Alto Adige Gewurztraminer 2012

90 Our Score
(4/2014) Many of you are familiar with Gewurztraminer from Alsace, California and the Pacific northwest, but did you know that Gewurztraminer is thought to have originated in the city of Tramin in Italy's Alto Adige? The Andrian Gewürztraminer is the real deal, with aromas of lychee, jasmine and spice. Big fruit and floral flavors lead to a nice and peppery finish. Clean, precise and laser-focused.

Terlano Alto Adige Pinot Grigio 2015

90+ Our Score
90 Wine Advocate
(7/28/2016) "Cantina Terlano does a great job with this bright and refreshing white wine. The 2015 Alto Adige Pinot Grigio is the kind of wine that begs a second and perhaps a third bottle during one of those epic beachfront seafood meals that define Italian living. The wine is absolutely crisp and fine with balanced acidity that finds beautiful contrast against slightly sweet flavors of pink grapefruit, peach and passion fruit. You also get some distant hay and dried herb at the back. Drink this delicious Grigio within the next 18 months."

Santa Margherita Alto Adige Pinot Grigio 2015

Winemakers Notes
"This dry white wine has a straw yellow color. Its clean, intense aroma and bone-dry taste (with an appealing flavor of Golden Delicious apples) make Santa Margherita's Pinot Grigio a wine of great personality and versatility. Excellent as an aperitif, and ideal with seafood salads or pasta and rice dishes based on fish and shellfish. Also perfect with white meats, boiled or grilled fish and souffles."

J. Hofstatter Suditirol-Alto Adige Pinot Grigio 2013

90 Our Score
(9/2014) J. Hofstatter is a fourth generation family owned winery founded in 1907. Located in the beautiful region of Alto-Adige, their wines are pure and expressive. This 2013 Pinot Grigio features delicious, ripe and juicy fruit flavors of yellow peach and bosc pear along with a rich and round mouthfeel. Typical of great examples of Pinot Grigio, there is just a touch of tannin and a hint of bitterness on the long finish. The acid is bright and lively and will stand up to rich pastas, seafood and chicken dishes.

Andriano Alto Adige Pinot Grigio 2014

92 James Suckling
91 Our Score
(3/2016) What a gorgeous Pinot Grigio! Fresh peach and pear complement pretty aromatics of stone fruit blossom and clean minerality. Classic Alto Adige (think high-altitude) acidity adds vibrancy to the wine's round and superb mouthfeel. Extra lees contact adds a bit of grip and texture making this a perfect companion to rich seafood and chicken dishes. Outstanding enough to be enjoyed all on its own too!
