Quintarelli Recioto della Valpolicella 2001

Recioto is the semi-sweet version of Amarone and is actually the style that predates the dry version. After the Corvina and Rondinella grapes have been dried on wooden racks for 4 months, they are pressed yielding small quantities of juice. The wine is then aged for at least 8 years in neutral barrel. This is an extremely special bottle and it will be perfect as a dessert.

Quintarelli Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2006

91 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(7/2015) "The 2006 Valpolicella Classico Superiore is a an attractive wine to drink now and over the next few years, as the flavors offer gorgeous complexity and nuance. Cedar, tobacco, smoke, worn-in leather and dried cherries are all laced together in the glass in a powerful Valpolicella loaded with class and personality. Firm tannins convey a decidedly old-school sense of structure."

Valentina Cubi "Morar" Amarone 2006

92 Wine Enthusiast
(12/2014) "Aromas of blue flower, blueberry, blackberry and exotic spice almost explode from the glass. The rich palate offers black plum, prune marinated in spirits, black pepper and nutmeg alongside velvety tannins. You'll also detect the warmth of alcohol, but it's supported by the fruit richness. Drink through 2021."

Buglioni "Il Bugiardo" Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso 2012

91+ Our Score
(9/2016) The name "Il Bugiardo" translates as "The Liar." As the story goes, when the first vintage (2000) was released, an experienced sommelier exclaimed, "If this is not Amarone, it is a lying wine!" We understand this reaction. Tasted blind, this beauty would have fooled us, too. It is chock full of black cherry, raisin, bittersweet chocolate and gorgeous exotic spices. With a long, oh-so-satisfying finish, this 2012 Ripasso will appeal to hardcore Italian and Cabernet aficionados alike. For once, we don't mind a lyin' wine!

Zenato "Alanera" Veronese Rosso 2012

The inaugural vintage for Zenato's new, Ripasso-style wine and we are impressed! Alanera is opaque in the glass with a bouquet of blackberry, black cherry, pepper, baking spice, coffee and new shoe leather. Full in body and smooth as could be, you'll love it with braised meats or all by itself. A top seller at our "Big Reds in Barrington" tasting!

90 Wine Advocate
(12/2014) "The 2012 Alanera is a new edition to the Zenato portfolio and pays tribute to the family patron who developed the estate's vineyards. the label depicts three swallows that are symbols of the three main hills that dominate this corner of Valpolicella. This IGT blend is composed of 55% Corvina, 25% Rondinella, 10% Corvinone and 10% other grapes that are aged in part in oak, and in part in stainless steel. The bouquet shows good intensity with bright layers of spice, dark fruit and prune. Drink: 2015 - 2022."

Pieropan Soave Classico 2014

93 Decanter
91 Our Score
(10/2015) This gorgeous Soave, from the great estate of Pieropan, is a quite a serious and impressive white - especially for the price. The flavors are fresh, layered and complex, showcasing white pear, lemon peel, grapefruit pith, mineral, banana and almond skin. The palate is dry, medium-bodied and very well balanced with clean, bright and refreshing acidity that drives the immensely long finish. Totally delicious by itself, or try it with pesto pasta, shellfish or all sorts of fresh seafood!

Bortolotti Valdobbiadene Prosecco Brut NV

88 Our Score
(5/2016) We've featured Bortolotti's Extra Dry before but this is our first time working with their bone-dry Brut bottling. Clean and floral it offers aromas and flavors of apple, lemon and white peach along with a leesy richness on the palate and a fine, creamy mousse.
