Caprili "AdAlberto" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2010

(3/3/2016) "Caprili owns some of the most beautiful vineyards in Montalcino near Soldera (Case Basse) and Angelo Gaja's Pieve di Santa Restituta. The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva AdAlberto is a tight and powerful wine that does a great job of capturing the ideal growing conditions of the vintage. The wine is slightly closed and tightly wound at this point, but Caprili has a proven track record for long aging potential. It promises a slow evolution to those who have the patience to wait. Dark fruit, spice, cola and grilled herb rise to the forefront. In the mouth, the wine shows rich texture and plump, rounded tannins. I tasted this wine 24 hours after opening the bottle, and it showed a beautiful and increasingly elegant personality."

Signorello Estate "Hope's Cuvee" Unfiltered Napa Valley Chardonnay 2014

Other stores sell this limited production beauty for between $70 and $86. At Vin Chicago, you'll pay a bunch less!
96 Wine Advocate
(10/29/2015) "The 2014 Chardonnay Hope's Cuvée, a selection of the best lots and barrels, is a stunning Chardonnay. There are 379 cases of this wine, which went through 44% malolactic and was aged in 56% new French oak. The wine shows plenty of orange blossom, honeysuckle, lemon custard and crushed rock notes. It is certainly very Burgundian and almost like a grand cru from the village of Puligny-Montrachet. Terrific stuff, with stunning texture and richness, this wine should drink well for another 5-7 years."

Domaine Philippe Charlopin "Les Echezots" Marsannay 2013

91 Our Score
(1/2017) Imported by Peter Weygandt, Charlopin is a very small grower located in Gevrey Chambertin. The "Les Echezots" comes from their property in the neighboring commune of Marsannay. This soft and plush Pinot Noir is forward and accessible, giving strawberry and tangy cherry fruit flavors along with overtones of toast, vanilla and organic earth. An excellent value.

Chateau Corbin St Emilion 2012

90 Wine Advocate
(4/29/2015) "Proprietress Annabelle Cruse-Bardinet oversees the winemaking at this excellent estate on the Pomerol-St.-Emilion border. Ruby/purple in color and nearly opaque, the wine has concentrated notes of crème de cassis, black cherry and licorice as well as a hint of truffle. Medium to full-bodied, elegant and pure, this is an impressive, outstanding St.-Emilion to drink young or over the next 10-12 years. Her final blend in 2012 was 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. Drink Date: 2015 - 2027."
