90 Our Score
(1/2017) The 2015 Filón is beautifully aromatic and simply delicious on the palate. The nose is an engaging combination of flowers, spice and red fruits. On the palate it is soft, smooth and silky with a warming finish. A real crowd-pleaser, this clean, well-made wine is a steal for under $10.

Tilia Mendoza Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

88 Our Score
89 Wine Advocate
(12/30/2016) "The grapes for the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon were harvested at three different points of ripeness to achieve better balance and complexity. This usually has some Syrah from Barrancas in east Mendoza. There are varietal aromas, clearly herbal, perhaps a little blurry, in the shape of tobacco leaves, blackberries and a touch of spice. The palate is soft, with some dusty tannins giving it an austere profile. Better with food."

Ironstone Lodi Petite Sirah 2014

#18 - Wine Enthusiast "Top Buys of 2016!"
90 Wine Enthusiast
(3/2016) "Intense and concentrated blackberry flavors rise above thick tannins in this full-bodied wine. Aromas suggest boysenberry, smoke and clove, while the flavors taste more like blackberry jam. Although the texture is dense and tannic, it stays velvety rather than drying. This will be great now with ribs or roast venison, but will easily age through 2020."

Cantele Salice Salentino Riserva 2013

90 Our Score
90 Wine Advocate
(8/2016). "The Cantele 2013 Salice Salentino Riserva shows a greater level of depth and finesse compared to many of its peers. The wine is packed tight with blackberry fruit, with Maraschino cherry, plum and prune in abundance. The wine is chewy and rich for sure, but it also provides an authentic and generous portrait of a red wine from Puglia. A spicy beef or lamb dish would make the perfect pairing partner.

Columbia Crest "H3" Horse Heaven Hills Merlot 2014

88 Our Score
(1/2017) After tasting through the latest "H3" wines from Columbia Crest, one of us noted.: "Nearly every wine Columbia Crest makes is worth buying!" It's true. In spite of the large scale of this iconic Washington State producer, the quality is incredibly consistent. This Merlot, for instance, is very tasty, giving a smooth, round mouthfeel to go along with the black cherry, plum and cocoa flavors. A perfect burger wine!

This wine is matured in American oak barrels built by their own coopers, the first year in new barrels and the second one in third-year barrels with four manual rackings. This is the younger of their wines, with even some red berry aromas and spicy oak, quite harmonious. The palate is lively, balanced and polished, with tasty flavors and bright acidity. Delicious. There are 379 cases of this wine, which went through 44% malolactic and was aged in 56% new French oak. The wine shows plenty of orange blossom, honeysuckle, lemon custard and crushed rock notes. It is certainly very Burgundian and almost like a grand cru from the village of Puligny-Montrachet. Terrific stuff, with stunning texture and richness, this wine should drink well for another 5-7 years."

(3/3/2016) "Caprili owns some of the most beautiful vineyards in Montalcino near Soldera (Case Basse) and Angelo Gaja's Pieve di Santa Restituta. The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva AdAlberto is a tight and powerful wine that does a great job of capturing the ideal growing conditions of the vintage. The wine is slightly closed and tightly wound at this point, but Caprili has a proven track record for long aging potential. It promises a slow evolution to those who have the patience to wait. Dark fruit, spice, cola and grilled herb rise to the forefront. In the mouth, the wine shows rich texture and plump, rounded tannins. I tasted this wine 24 hours after opening the bottle, and it showed a beautiful and increasingly elegant personality."

Castello di Ama "San Lorenzo" Gran Selezione Chianti Classico 2013

94 Wine Spectator
(12/15/2016) "There's purity to the cherry, strawberry, floral and spice aromas and flavors is this red, which is firmly structured yet elegant and graceful, with sweet fruit matching the dusty tannins on the lingering finish. Best from 2018 through 2028. 180 cases imported."
