(9/2015) "Dark red cherry, plum, cinnamon and crushed rock nuances flesh out in the 2012 Fontalloro. Next to most of the other wines in the lineup, the 2012 Fontalloro is floral, perfumed, fresh and vibrant, with gorgeous aromatic lift, silky tannins and lovely overall balance. Fontalloro often opens up before Rancia, as is the case today, but the 2012 also possesses more than enough depth to drink well for a number of years. Still, the sexy, radiant finish makes me think most bottles won't be around to make old bones. Put simply, the 2012 Fontalloro is an arrestingly beautiful, showy wine built to please. And please it does."

Terlano Alto Adige Pinot Grigio 2015

90+ Our Score
90 Wine Advocate
(7/28/2016) "Cantina Terlano does a great job with this bright and refreshing white wine. The 2015 Alto Adige Pinot Grigio is the kind of wine that begs a second and perhaps a third bottle during one of those epic beachfront seafood meals that define Italian living. The wine is absolutely crisp and fine with balanced acidity that finds beautiful contrast against slightly sweet flavors of pink grapefruit, peach and passion fruit. You also get some distant hay and dried herb at the back. Drink this delicious Grigio within the next 18 months."

Celli "I Croppi" Albana di Romagna Secco 2015

90 Our Score
(3/2017) This impressive dry white earned the coveted "Tre Bicchieri" award from Gambero Rosso and is one of the most unique Italian wines you will come across in this price category. From a family winery in a unique, cooler climate, clay and limestone soiled sub-zone of Emiglia-Romagna, this golden-tinged wine gives off aromas of ripe apple, apricot and lemon pith along with white flowers and intense minerality. Only stainless steel was used which preserves the bright acidity and freshness while the texture is unctuous, making it an awesome pairing with fatty seafood or white meats. This was a real eye-opener at our "Tre Bicchieri" dinner paired with fried bread with smoked eel. Wow!

G. D. Vajra Dolcetto d'Alba 2015

You gotta love the fragrance of violets and the combination of black, blue and red berries on this one!
90 Our Score
89 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(2/2017) "The 2015 Dolcetto d'Alba is bold, intense and full of personality. Ripe red cherry, tobacco, cedar and licorice open up nicely, but it is the wine's structure and tannic backbone that give the wine its distinctiveness. Readers should expect a big, hearty Dolcetto with more than enough depth to drink well for a number of years. Best of all, the 2015 is a steal."

Falesco "Tellus" Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

92 James Suckling
90 Wine Advocate
(3/2016) "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Tellus is an amazing value wine and to my palate, it is by far the best of the three wines in the Tellus series. The wine offers true varietal notes of blackberry and dried cherry. It is aged in neutral oak for up to six months. You can taste some of those toasted notes, but they are not invasive."
