Salvestrin "Salvestrin Estate Vineyard" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

93 Wine Advocate
(12/2015) "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate comes from the estate vineyards and is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc. This showed well. It's a 2013, but the blend, which was aged 22 months in French, American and Hungarian oak, is lusty, savory, hedonistic, rich and mouth-filling, with a dense purple color and not a hard edge in sight. This blockbuster fruit bomb has complexity, richness and a savory intensity that has to be tasted to be believed. Kudos to the winery. Drink now through 2030+."

Meadowcroft Mount Veeder Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

92 Our Score
(10/2016) We were beyond delighted with this small-production Cabernet from Meadowcroft. An enticing nose of dark berries, cassis, baking spice, bramble and mocha invites you in. The round, grippy palate and ridiculously long finish seal the deal. Only 103 cases were produced of this enchanting wine, which spent 38 months in Hungarian and Alain Fouguet French oak. $85 at the winery

Snowden "The Ranch" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

93 Our Score
93 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(9/2015) "Snowden's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon The Ranch is bold, delicious and juicy. Black cherry, plum, licorice and smoke all meld together effortlessly. The tannins could use another year or two to soften, but the Ranch Cabernet is going to drink well with minimal cellaring next to most wines of the vintage."

DeLille Cellars "D2" Columbia Valley Proprietary Red Blend 2013

92 Wine Advocate
92 Wine Spectator
(9/30/2016) "Broad and open-textured, with tannins surrounding a plush core of green olive-accented dark plum, thyme and spice, lingering easily on the undulating finish. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2017 through 2023."

Occhipinti "Il Frappato" Terre Siciliane Rosso 2014

93 Wine Advocate
(8/2016) "Arianna Occhipinti has outdone herself with the 2014 Il Frappato. This is a wine of character and personality. It flaunts those slightly rustic edges with charm and confidence. The bouquet opens to ripe blueberry, raspberry and dried cassis. The quality of fruit shows good integrity and balance. You don't notice any of the raw or unclean smells you sometimes get with wines made in such a natural and non-interventionist approach. The nose is pristine. In the mouth, Il Frappato delivers vibrant acidity and snappy fruit flavors. More than any other wine, this vintage and this producer can claim to have produced something close to a Pinot Nero with an all-Sicilian soul."

Knez Winery Anderson Valley Pinot Noir 2014

93 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(2/2016) "The 2014 Pinot Noir (Anderson Valley) is a bold, absolutely delicious wine to drink now and over the next few years. Racy and explosive to the core, the 2014 boasts serious depth, with tons of up-front fruit and the layered radiance that is such a signature of top Anderson Valley Pinots. This is an impressive appellation-level Pinot that overdelivers, big time. Drinking window: 2016 - 2022."

Jean Louis Chave Selection "Offerus" St Joseph Rouge 2013

93 Wine Spectator
(10/31/2016) "Dark and vinous, featuring blackberry, black currant and plum fruit melded with smoldering charcoal and singed bay leaf notes. The long finish echoes with dark tea, fruit and charcoal details. A strong showing for the vintage. Best from 2017 through 2023. 1,000 cases made."

Cono Sur "20 Barrels" Casablanca Valley Pinot Noir 2013

91 Our Score
91 Wine Advocate
"The nose is quite Burgundian with traces of smoke, spices and something earthy à la Gevrey, over the core of black cherries. The palate is medium-bodied, nicely structured with good acidity and nerve, clean and not built around concentration, but around its acidity and minerality. Great Pinot, superb value for money. Drink 2016-2020."

Domaine des 3 Cellier "Alchimie" Chateauneuf du Pape Rouge 2014

We have been on the hunt for a great Chateauneuf-du-Pape value and struck gold with this incredible Thomas Calder import!
91 Our Score
(10/2016) Filled with delicious fruit flavors of black cherry, raspberry and blackberry, the "Alchimie" from Domaine des 3 Cellier offers up everything a fan of Chateauneuf-du-Pape would expect. The wine is incredibly complex and undeniably "Chateauneuf" with characteristic secondary notes of warm rocky earth, minerals, aromatic herbs, garrigue, a hint of fennel and a whiff of black pepper. This beauty is powerful, but with remarkable balance and freshness. An outstanding value to enjoy now with an hour decanting or to cellar for enjoyment over the next decade.
