Ridge "Geyserville" Alexander Valley Zinfandel Blend 2014

93 Wine Advocate
93 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
93+ Our Score
(4/2016) This vintage of Geyserville is a blend of 60% Zinfandel, 24% Carignan, 12% Petite Sirah and 4% Mataro. The wine pours a deep, glass staining purple with instantly intense aromatics. The depth produced by these 130 year old vines is immediately apparent as this Zinfandel-based blend leaps out of the glass with ripe, rich black fruits followed by seductive floral tones. The velvety palate of cherry and blackberry are deep and rich with that lifting floral note - all backed by lively acidity to keep the mouth watering. We were awed by the silky mouthfeel and expressive flavors.

Dashe Cellars Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

92 Our Score
(4/2016) Only 88 cases produced of this rare beauty. Most is being offered at Dashe's tasting room but we managed to scoop up a few cases for you. Aged for 20 months in a combination of new French oak (15%) and older barrels, this 2013 Cabernet is very Bordeaux-like in character with a nice elegance on the palate. Wonderful complexity and depth, with layers of earth, barrel, black currant and cassis. Finishes with grippy tannins that will melt away with a little bottle age. An extremely well made, classically styled, small-batch Sonoma Cabernet from an exceptional vintage.

Stonestreet Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

94 Wine Advocate
(12/2014) "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate comes from vineyards between 500 and 2,400 foot elevations. A blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Malbec aged 17 months in 30% new French oak, it exhibits an inky/blue/purple color as well as a terrific nose of wet pebbles, blueberries, blackcurrants, lead pencil shavings and charcoal presented in a full-bodied, rich, concentrated style. There are 5,350 cases of this superb Cabernet Sauvignon, which has 15-20 years of evolution ahead of it."

Ferrari-Carano Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

91 Wine Spectator
91 Wine Advocate
(12/2014) "The outstanding 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Alexander Valley displays classy notes of charcoal, camphor, blackcurrants, licorice and forest floor. Full-bodied with sweet tannin, a nicely layered mouthfeel, and an accessible personality, it spent 16 months in French oak, a component that frames the wine but does not intrude on the aromatics or flavors. This beauty showcases the high quality Cabernet Sauvignon that often comes from Alexander Valley. Drink it over the next 10-15 years."

Katherine Goldschmidt "Crazy Creek Vineyard" Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

89 Our Score
(1/2015) Aromas of oak and vanilla immediately leap out of the glass on this Alexander Valley Cabernet from our old friend Nick Goldschmidt. Not overly ripe, it offers traditional Cabernet flavors of blackberry and currant. A very drinkable and enjoyable style of Cab with an austere and chewy finish.
