Domaine Lapalu "Vieilles Vignes" Brouilly 2014

92 Wine Advocate
(6/2015) "The 2014 Brouilly Cuvee Vieilles Vignes, which undergoes exactly the same vinification as the Beaujolais Villages, has a wonderful nose of blackberry, briary wild hedgerow and hints of dried violet petals. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit mixed with licorice on the entry. There are fine tannins underpinning this Brouily, and though it feels a little clammed up on the finish so close to bottling, it is very elegant and composed. Drink: 2015 - 2025"

Chateau Thivin "Reverdon" Brouilly 2015

91 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
92 Wine Advocate
(8/2016) "The 2015 Brouilly Reverdon, which had been bottled about one month prior to my visit, has a powerful but primal bouquet, clearly laden with plenty of fruit. The definition is here though. The palate is fleshy and supple on the entry but then those tannins cloak the mouth, without overwhelming, finishing in quite a sensual style. This has much more to give but it should be given 3-4 years to allow the terroir to really be expressed. What are you waiting for? This is a knockout Brouilly."
