Chateau La Caminade "La Commandery" Cahors 2010

90+ Our Score
(1/2015) This 4th generation family-owned Domaine is located in France's Lot department and is turning out some seriously delicious Malbec under the local Cahors appellation. The grapes for their "La Commandery" bottling are selected from the best vineyard sites of the appellation, located on the upper terraces. Once poured, take a moment to enjoy the beautiful bouquet. The flavors are deep and complex with plenty of dark fruit. The palate is balanced with a medium-full body and ripe tannins that call out for food. Watch out Argentina, Malbec from Cahors is back!

(6/1/2016) "This is a big-hearted, ripe wine from the Verhaeghe family, one of the top producers in Cahors. It is packed with black fruits and firm tannins. They promise richness to come with structure, wood aging flavors and density. It's a wine that is just starting out, still boasting its youthful fruit. Give it until 2020 before drinking."
