Domaine Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin "Grenouilles" Grand Cru Chablis 2015

94 Our Score
90-92 Burghound
(10/2016) "Here too there is a discreet touch of wood setting off the ripe yet cool nose of green fruit, pear, apple and algae scents. There is once again excellent volume and richness to the intense medium weight plus flavors that terminate in a zesty, even tangy finale where the wood telegraphed by the nose reappears."

Domaine Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin "Vaudesir" Grand Cru Chablis 2015

93+ Our Score
90-92 Burghound
(10/2016) "This is one of the freshest wines in the range and with good Chablis character in the form of oyster shell, iodine, sea breeze and ripe floral scents. There is impressive richness to the very generously proportioned medium-bodied flavors that terminate in a powerful, mildly austere and solidly persistent finish. Oddly for Vaudésir this is almost rustic at present though this may change with a few years of bottle age."

Domaine Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin "Valmur" Grand Cru Chablis 2015

93 Our Score
89-92 Burghound
(10/2016) "A deft touch of wood frames slightly riper but still appealingly fresh floral, green fruit and tidal pool nuances that merge seamlessly into rich, concentrated and mouth coating big-bodied flavors that are also notably powerful, all wrapped in a mildly austere and bitter lemon-inflected finale. Though more depth will surely develop this is somewhat simple today."

Caves Duplessis "Montee de Tonnerre" 1er Cru Chablis 2014

92 Wine & Spirits
90 Wine Advocate
(8/2016) "The 2014 Chablis 1er Cru Montee de Tonnerre has a very strict and linear, almost tertiary bouquet at first with subtle undergrowth aromas, but it gains intensity with aeration and develops a light white chocolate scent. The palate is well balanced with a saline entry with hints of dried honey and spice, gentle and harmonious; the finish was a little sweeter than I was anticipating. It is an attractive Chablis, although I would put my money on the Fourchaume for the long term."

Domaine Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin "Montee de Tonnerre" Premier Cru Chablis 2015

92+ Our Score
90-92 Burghound
(10/2016) "This is much more floral with subtle hints of classic Chablis elements adding breadth to the predominantly pear and citrus suffused aromas. There is good richness to the relatively full-bodied flavors that possess ample minerality that is particularly evident on the saline, energetic and balanced finale that delivers good if not truly elite depth."

Caves Duplessis "Montmains" 1er Cru Chablis 2014

91 Our Score
91 Wine Advocate
(8/2016) "The 2014 Chablis 1Er Cru Montmains probably displays the best mineralité on the nose. It is tight and linear at first, but there are lovely flint and granite scents that surface with several swirls of the glass. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, lively and spicy on the entry, moderate depth and slightly pinched on the finish. Give this a year or two in bottle and I am certain that it will put on a little more weight. Still, a very fine Montmains with class."

Domaine Jean-Paul & Benoit Droin "Montmains" Premier Cru Chablis 2015

92 Our Score
(2/2017) "This wine began its life in 40% new wood. That, coupled with the generous nature of 2015 results in a wine of delicious oomph. Ripe orchard and stone fruit flavors are supported by subtle minerality and wood spice. It's not common to describe Chablis as "lush", but its totally appropriate here."

Caves Duplessis Chablis 2015

90 Our Score
90 Wine & Spirits
(4/2017) "A racy young Chablis with scents of honeycomb, fennel and orchard fruits, this is ripe and distinctly fruity while maintaining a clear focus. There's pithy fruit bitterness to hold the sweetness in check. Approachable now, it will only gain from a year in bottle."

Domaine William Fevre Chablis 2014

#94 - Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2016!
90 Wine Spectator
(6/30/2016) "This is delicate, featuring lemon, herb and stone flavors lifted by the fine acidity. Touches of seashore and oyster shell add depth as this coasts to a clean finish. Drink now through 2018. 4,000 cases imported."

Domaine Sequinot-Bordet "Vaillons" Chablis 1 er Cru 2014

This is TEXTBOOK Chablis at an outrageous price. Stephen Tanzer quotes this at $38!
90 Vinous, Stephen Tanzer
91 Burghound
(10/8/2016) "A perfumed nose exhibits notes of citrus, especially grapefruit, oyster shell and tidal pool-inflected scents that merge seamlessly into stony, precise and pure middle weight flavors that culminate in a balanced and understated finish that could be from nowhere else other than Chablis. This citrusy and mineral-driven effort is essentially a wine of finesse that should reward 4 to 6 years of bottle age. Worth checking out."
