Domaine Gilles Troullier "L'Espirit du Temps" Cotes Catalanes Rouge 2013

94 Wine Advocate
(4/2015) "Checking in as 100% Grenache, the downright sexy 2013 Côtes Catalanes l'Esprit du Temps has full-bodied richness and depth to go with rock-star notes of black raspberry, crushed violets and hints of pepper. It has a serious amount of texture, yet stays light, elegant and pure. It too will have a decade or more of longevity."

Domaine Gilles Troullier "De-La" Cotes Catalanes Rouge 2013

92 Our Score
92+ Wine Advocate
(4/2015) "The 2013 Cotes Catalans De-La and this blend of 100% Syrah comes all from the granite soils around the towns of Lesquerde and Tevillach. Vinified in concrete tank and aged in a combination of tank and demi-muid (20% new), it has a terrific bouquet of black raspberry, garrigue, toasted spice and crushed rock to go with a medium-bodied, supple, elegant and beautifully pure style on the palate. Give it another year or two and drink bottles through 2023."

Domaine Lafage "Nicolas" Vieilles Vignes Cotes Catalanes Grenache 2014

90+ Our Score
90-92 Wine Advocate
(4/2015) "Aged in 25% demi-muids, the 2014 Cotes Catalanes Nicolas comes all from the rolling hills and gravel soils in the Aspres region and is made from 100% Grenache. What should represent an incredible value, it boasts fabulous notes of black raspberry, licorice and crushed violets to go with medium+- bodied richness, fine tannin and a supple, pretty profile on the palate. This is far from an over-the-top fruit bomb and it has real class and elegance. Buy it by the case and drink it over the coming 2-3 years."

Domaine Lafage "Tessellae - Vieilles Vignes" Carignan 2014

92 Wine Advocate
(3/26/2016) "A crazy value, the 2014 IGP Cotes Catalanes Tessellae Carignan Vieilles Vignes is one of the best examples of this variety from the Roussillon, and the fact that it sells for a song is just icing on the cake for the consumer. Coming all from schist soils and 70-year-old vines, raised 12 months in a mix of concrete tanks and demi-muids, it offers tons of black raspberry and black cherry fruit, licorice and dried spices to go with a super sexy, heady, seamless style on the palate that keeps you coming back to the glass. Drink this blockbuster over the coming 2-3 years."

Domaine des Deux Puits Muscat Sec Cotes Catalanes 2014

89 Our Score
(1/2016) For many decades the region of Roussillon in Catalanes was known for fortified dessert wines, many of which were made from the Muscat grape. This style of wine has largely fallen out of fashion. Savvy producers have taken these Muscat plantings and turned them into deliciously dry, aromatic wines like this fun-to-drink bottling from Domaine des Deux Puits. This deceptively rich wine practically jumps out of the glass, with enticing notes of tropical flower, nectarine, lime pith and star fruit. The acidity is medium, making for a perfect book club wine or a tasty partner to citrus infused shellfish or Asian dishes.

Domaine Lafage "Novellum" Chardonnay 2015

90 Wine Advocate
(3/26/2016) "A custom cuvee created by importer Eric Solomon, the 2015 IGP Cotes Catalanes Novellum is a smokin' value that's made from 100% Chardonnay that spent three months in tank (on Viognier lees) followed by three months in barrel. Tasting like it cost three times the price, it offers lots of orchard fruits, white peach, honeysuckle and a hint of vanilla to go with a medium to full-bodied, crisp, yet still textured and mouth-filling style on the palate. You can't go wrong at the price and this is a terrific wine to enjoy over the coming year or two."
