Chateau Ste. Michelle "Canoe Ridge Estate Vineyard" Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

92 Vinous, Stephen Tanzer
93 Wine Advocate
(6/29/2016) "A rocking value, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Canoe Ridge Estate Vineyards would cost five times the price if it came from Napa. Made from 98% Cabernet Sauvignon and 2% Merlot, aged 22 months in 62% new French oak, it has fabulous Cabernet character in its ripe currant fruits, crushed rock, and tobacco leaf-like aromas and flavors. Full-bodied, concentrated and layered, with a great texture, drink it anytime over the coming decade."

(4/2017) A top-notch Petite Sirah here with wonderful extraction, depth of fruit and balance. A full 22 months in French and American oak has resulted in complex aromas of vanilla, baking spice and cedar to go with the varietal's classic black cherry and pepper flavors. Columbia Crest "H3" Horse Heaven Hills Merlot 2014

88 Our Score
(1/2017) After tasting through the latest "H3" wines from Columbia Crest, one of us noted.: "Nearly every wine Columbia Crest makes is worth buying!" It's true. In spite of the large scale of this iconic Washington State producer, the quality is incredibly consistent. This Merlot, for instance, is very tasty, giving a smooth, round mouthfeel to go along with the black cherry, plum and cocoa flavors. A perfect burger wine!

(12/31/2014) "A blend of 60% Syrah, 27% Merlot and a handful of other varieties added to the mix, this aromatically pops, with complex notes of plum, blueberry, smoke, chocolate and floral accents. It's silky smooth in feel, with abundant chocolaty flavors that help it go down far too easy."
