(8/28/2015) "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva Estate, from their vineyards in Huelquén in the Maipo Andes zone, is complemented by 5% Carménère and 2% Syrah; these grapes and percentages change with the vintage, but the 'varietal' wines are never pure. It fermented in stainless steel with remontage, and aged in used French and American oak barrels for one year. 2013 was much cooler than 2012, producing higher yields and the wine is fresher, and dare I say it, more fluid and mineral, very balanced. The palate is very tasty, with some herbal notes and very good acidity, very savory and supple. Very good value and readily available, as 825,000 bottles were produced."

(2/2015) "With its expansive red fruit flavors, this is a fresh blend of Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot and Carménère. The wine's vibrant acidity balances the sweet, gentle nature of its fruit. A great buy for a party. Best Buy"

90+ Cellars "Lot 127" Maipo Valley Cabernet Sauvignon/Carmenere 2015

88+ Our Score
(10/2016) This crazy tasty red from Chile's Maipo Valley blends 75% Cabernet with 25% Carmenere. Juicy flavors of blackberry, cassis and plum are complemented by coffee, cocoa and red bell pepper. Drinkable by itself, with tacos or even a juicy burger, this offers the flavor, refinement and balance of a more expensive wine. If tasted blind, we would've guessed $12-$16.
