Cellar Can Blau 'Mas de Can Blau" Montsant 2010

92 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
91 Wine Spectator
92 Wine Enthusiast
(2/1/2014) "Oaky, inky, modern and full of power, this Montsant blend of Carignan, Syrah and Garnacha is toasty and dark as night on the bouquet. The palate feels ripe and intense, with creamy oak and controlled tannins. Flavors of baked black fruits, cocoa and vanilla finish soft and supple, with just enough tannic grip and acidity to maintain focus. Drink from 2014-2020."

Celler Dosterras "Vespres" Montsant 2010

92 Our Score
94 Wine & Spirits
"The aroma of this wine is almost hallucinogenic, a wild mix of earth, blackberries and raspberries. The mouth is juicy, powered by the wine's fruit with eccentric little details of meatiness and earthiness that focus on its originality and distinction. Vespres is an old-vine blend of garnacha (80 percent) and mazuelo."

Venus la Universal "Dido" Montsant Tinto 2014

91 Our Score
(9/2016) A blend of Garnacha, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from the Montsant property of husband and wife René Barbier Jr. and Sara Perez. Shows good complexity and depth of flavor with lively black and red fruits on the palate. Violet, vanilla, pepper and black olive also come through. Great richness and a long, silky smooth finish.

Celler de Capcanes "Mas Donis Barrica" Montsant Grenache/Syrah 2013

91 Our Score
(5/2015) The previous vintage of Mas Donís earned 94 points from Robert Parker and sold out in a matter of hours. This new release is another knockout. Like the 2012, it is a blend of 85% Grenache and 15% Syrah aged for nine months in a combination of new and used French and American oak. Offering a wonderful vanilla character along with powerful flavors of raspberry and black cherry along with a solid core of minerality, it has waaaay more complexity than you'd ever expect to find in a sub-$20 bottling. Snap this up by the case because once Parker publishes his review, it will be gone in a flash!

Bodegas Bula "Bula" Montsant 2013

90+ Our Score
90 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(9/2014) "(50% carinena, 30% garnacha and 20% syrah; aged for four months in French and American oak): Brilliant ruby. Bright red fruits on the nose, with peppery spices and a floral pastille element adding nuance. Deep and appealingly sweet but energetic too, with good energy and lift to its raspberry and bitter cherry flavors. Silky tannins build slowly on the long, pliant finish, with the floral note echoing."
