Domaine Marcel Lapierre Morgon 2015 3.0 LT

93 Wine Advocate
(8/30/2016) "The 2015 Morgon has a clean and vibrant bouquet with perfumed dark cherries, redcurrant, a touch of gravel and touches of rose petal. The palate is nicely structured, brimming over with energy. The acidity is very well judged, quite sturdy as Morgon should be, no hard edges here but just the background "hum" of tension from start to finish. This is just a superb Morgon from Mathieu and Camille Lapierre."

(8/2016) "Opaque ruby. Ripe red fruit and floral scents are sharpened by a peppery nuance. Seamless and a touch jammy, offering primary raspberry and cherry flavors that tighten up and become spicier as the wine opens up. Appealingly sweet and supple on the nicely persistent finish, which is given gentle grip by soft, even tannins."

Domaine Jean Foillard "Cuvee Corcelette" Morgon 2013

(7/2016) "Limpid violet. Bright, mineral-accented red and dark berry aromas show excellent clarity and pick up deeper cherry pit and licorice qualities as the wine opens up. Juicy and concentrated, offering lively bitter cherry and black raspberry flavors given spine and focus and a smoky mineral component. Powerful yet graceful, featuring a suave, floral-tinged and gently tannic finish that lingers with strong tenacity. Drinking window: 2017 - 2022."

Jean-Paul Thevenet "Vieilles Vignes" Morgon 2013

93 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
(12/2014) "Vivid ruby. Sexy, highly perfumed aromas of fresh raspberry and candied rose, with white pepper, allspice and blood orange notes adding complexity. Silky, seamless and fine-grained, offering lively, appealingly sweet red fruit flavors and a touch of spicecake. Shows excellent energy and focus on the mineral-driven finish, which displays a repeating raspberry note and even tannins. This wine is made from fruit grown in two different parcels, one planted in the late 1960s and the other over 110 years ago."
