Domaine Bulliats Moulin-a-Vent 2015

90 Our Score
(6/2017) Another great value from the stellar 2015 vintage! With more structure and earth than other Beaujolais Cru's might present, this Moulin-a-Vent (named after a 300-year-old windmill) gives a chewy grip and a peppery note to the juicy, ripe fruit flavors. Drinkable now with roast chicken or pork loin, this wine will age nicely for another 3-5 years. Solid value!

Domaine Diochon Moulin A Vent Vieilles Vignes 2013

Huge scores for these fun half-bottles of very serious Cru Beaujolais imported by Kermit Lynch.

(6/25/2014) "The 2013 Moulin-a-Vent comes from vines between 50 and 80 years old on pink granite, southeasterly facing slopes, and is aged in oak foudres for six to seven months. It has a very precise bouquet that unfurls with red currant jus, red plum and hints of peach in the background. It is very composed and becomes more generous the more patient you are. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. This wine is holding everything back at the moment, exerting just a gentle grip, yet there is fine matiere here and a lovely twist of bitter orange on the finish. Excellent. Drink 2015-2021."
