Domaine de la Pepiere "Monnieres Saint-Fiacre" Muscadet Sevre et Maine 2013

93-94 Wine Advocate
(5/2014) "I had the deep and profund 2013 Monnières Saint Fiacre as a sample from the concrete egg. It is a rich, complex, and impressively persistent Muscadet with tropical flavors and floral aromas on the nose and a terrifically fresh citrus taste and a deep mineral structure. I can't wait to taste this wine when bottled again, although this won't be the case before summer 2016. Until then, this will remain on its lees and gain further complexity."

Michel Delhommeau "St. Vincent" Muscadet Sevre et Maine 2012

89 Our Score
Man, we really love a good Muscadet. The Delhommeau bottlings are always well done, but in a quality vintage like 2012 the wines are spectacular. Though it is their less expensive offering, we prefer the simple charms of the "St. Vincent" cuvee. With a leesy, smoky, flinty mineral core and fresh red apple and pear tones, the wine is impressive in the mouth and will surprise those allowing it to open in the glass. Try with mussels in white wine and tarragon.
