Booker Vineyards "Oubile" Paso Robles Red Blend 2013

94 Wine Advocate
(8/2015) "The ruby/semi-opaque colored 2013 Oublie is a sensational blend of 46% Grenache, 34% Mourvedre and 20% Counoise that offers a seamless, layered and complex array of blueberry, black raspberry, dried flowers, vanilla bean and spice on the nose. Pure silk on the palate, with full-bodied richness and no hard edges, this impeccably balanced red has a full, layered mid-palate, sweet tannin and a terrific finish. One of those wines where the bottle's empty before you know it, drink this beauty over the coming 5-8 years. Drink: 2015 - 2023"

Ledge Vineyards "James Berry Vineyard" Paso Robles Syrah 2014

95 Wine Advocate
94 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
(6/2016) "Vivid magenta. An explosively perfumed, complex bouquet displays intense boysenberry, cherry liqueur, licorice, allspice and sandalwood scents, while a smoky mineral topnote gains strength with air. Completely stains the palate with sweet black and blue fruit, spicecake and candied lavender flavors that show impressive litheness for their heft. Smooth, slow-building tannins shape the finish, which hangs on with outstanding, floral-driven persistence. Drinking window: 2020 - 2027."

Ledge Vineyards "Dusi Ranch" Paso Robles Zinfandel 2014

93 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
(9/2016) "Dark purple. Heady, smoke- and spice-accented aromas of blackberry and cherry liqueur and incense take on a hint of Indian spices as the wine opens up. Lush and expansive in the mouth, offering palate-staining black and blue fruit preserve and fruitcake flavors that are lifted and sharpened by a vibrant mineral element. Becomes spicier and more energetic with air and finishes extremely long and smooth; velvety tannins lend gentle grip. Drinking window: 2019 - 2025."

Field Recordings "Chorus Effect" Paso Robles Red Blend 2013

91 Our Score
(9/2016) This beautiful single-vineyard bottling from Field Recordings is labeled "Chorus Effect" and it comes from a small four acre plot called Koligian Vineyard in Paso Robles. This full-bodied, concentrated and totally delicious red blends 54% Cabernet Sauvigion with 19% Petit Verdot, 16% Cabernet Franc and 11% Tannat that was all co-fermented. A rich wine like this takes well to oak and it spent 18 long months in a mix of 85% new French and 15% new American barrels. The result is a complex carnival of flavors featuring ripe and inviting dark berries layered with baking spices, cocoa, vanilla, espresso and more. Only 400 cases were produced of this small-batch beauty.

90 Wine Advocate
91 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
(9/2016) "Youthful purple. Ripe, spice-accented cherry, dark berries and candied flowers on the deeply scented nose and in the mouth. Silky and open-knit; a building peppery element adds vivacity to sweet blueberry and cherry flavors. Bitter chocolate and allspice notes come up on the clinging finish, which is shaped by smooth tannins. In the context of California Cabernet, this wine delivers fantastic value."
