Domaine Pierre Gonon Saint-Joseph Rouge 2014

93-94 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
(3/2016) "Opaque ruby. A heady, smoke- and spice-tinged bouquet evokes fresh dark fruits, olive paste and potpourri, while an olive nuance comes up slowly. Fine-grained and sharply focused on the palate, offering concentrated black and blue fruit flavors that spread out and become spicier on the back half. Powerful yet graceful in character, finishing with outstanding energy and smooth, harmonious tannins that fold quickly into the wine's energetic fruit."

Domaine Pierre Gonon "Les Oliviers" Saint-Joseph Blanc 2014

93 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
(3/2016) "Light, bright yellow. Poached pear, white peach, honey and lemon pith on the intensely perfumed, mineral-accented nose. Pliant, deeply concentrated pit and citrus fruit and honeysuckle flavors are complemented by hints of succulent herbs and fennel; bitter quinine adds back-end cut. Closes with powerful punch and serious persistence, leaving behind a note of candied citrus fruits. This bottling has an admirable track record for cellaring."

J.L.Chave Selection "Offerus" St Joseph Rouge 2013

93 Wine Spectator
(10/31/2016) "Dark and vinous, featuring blackberry, black currant and plum fruit melded with smoldering charcoal and singed bay leaf notes. The long finish echoes with dark tea, fruit and charcoal details. A strong showing for the vintage. Best from 2017 through 2023. 1,000 cases made."

91 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
(12/2014) "Opaque ruby. Smoky blueberry, olive paste and violet aromas are lifted and sharpened by a spicy nuance. Pliant, ripe and broad on entry, then more taut in the mid-palate, offering sappy black and blue fruit flavors that put on weight with aeration. Shows excellent clarity and a seductive floral note on the finish, which features supple tannins and a hint of candied flowers. Drinking window: 2017 - 2026."
