E.Guigal "La Landonne" Cote-Rotie 2010

99 Wine Spectator
100 Wine Advocate
(12/2014) "As with the other two single-parcel Cote Roties, the 2010 Cote Rotie La Landonne is pure perfection in a glass. An incredibly massive, muscular, full-bodied effort, it has an insane amount of structure to go with an equal amount of concentrated fruit. Cassis, smoked bacon, coffee bean, cracked pepper and liquid rock-like qualities are all present here, and it hits the palate with a chiseled, focused textured, building tannin and terrific length. It's the most backward of the 2010s and will require a decade of cellaring, but will keep for about as long as you'd like to hold onto bottles."

E.Guigal "La Turque" Cote-Rotie 2010

99 Wine Spectator
100 Wine Advocate
(12/2014) "On this showing, the 2010 La Turque was incredible, in a lineup of incredible wines. Offering off-the-chart notes of cassis, blackberry, aged beef, chocolate, crushed rock and exotic flowers, it flows onto the palate with a massive, full-bodied feel that carries ultra-fine tannin, awesome depth and a blockbuster finish. Syrah, or wine for that matter, doesn't get any better. Give this monumental Cote Rotie 5-6 years and enjoy it over the following 2-3 decades."

E.Guigal Ermitage "Ex Voto" Rouge 2010

100 Wine Advocate
(12/2014) "At the risk of sounding like a broken record, the 2010 Hermitage Ex Voto is as good as it gets. Following some of the most concentrated, rich Cote Roties ever made, it still ratcheted up the concentration level with its massive, palate saturating levels of gamey dark fruits, cassis, licorice, chocolate, graphite and powdered rock. If this beauty doesn't make fireworks go off in your head, I don't know what will. Full-bodied, deeply concentrated and structured, yet also fine, elegant and delineated, it is nothing short of incredible. Give this awesome Hermitage 5-6 years in the cellar and feel free to drink it anytime over the following 4-5 decades."

Sauzet Batard Montrachet 2010

94+ Vinous, Stephen Tanzer
(9/2012) "(Boudot picked this fruit on the second day of the harvest "to avoid surmaturite"): Pale yellow. Aromatic nose combines peach and acacia flower. Sweet, dense and peachy, with powerful underlying structure and palate-staining fruit. Seems better balanced and higher in acidity than the 2011 version, which accentuates the impression of minerality. Superb Batard with a silky texture and a very long, brisk finish. Likely to be long-lived."

Mark Herold Wines "Herold" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

95 Wine Advocate
"The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Herold, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon largely from the Stagecoach Vineyard in Coombsville, is a spectacular effort. It boasts copious notes of licorice, charcoal, burning embers, graphite, blackberries and cassis in a full-bodied, full throttle, pedal-to-the-metal, muscular, intense personality. The tannins are soft and the wine is rich as well as convincing. Drink it over the next 12-15 years."

Domaine de Jaugaret St.-Julien Bordeaux 2010

97 Our Score
(06/2015) In our tasting at Neal Rosenthal's warehouse in New York, the 2010 Jaugaret fully coats the sides of the glass with a beautiful, opaque black/purple/ruby color. The nose is quickly filled with classic, appealing aromas of red Bordeaux including blackberry, black and red currants, plum and black cherry. Also immediately noticeable is an absence of intense new oak flavors. Young "high-end" Bordeaux, especially the classified growths, are typically chock full of toast, vanilla and cedar flavors. Not here! Instead, a pure mineral and organic earth tone comes through, as do secondary notes of rocky/dusty earth, smoke, tomato leaf, dark chocolate and bell pepper. The complexity of flavors is supported by a structure that is both elegant and powerful. Being a young wine, the tannins are intense. This is old school Bordeaux! As the wine finishes, we realize it is too young to drink now. Ideally, the 2010 Jaugaret sits another 10 years before drinking. That said, we sampled a second bottle of this wine more recently in Chicago and on day three after being opened the wine was beginning to soften and reveal a glimmer of its ultimate potential. If you do plan on opening a bottle within the next year, we recommend decanting for an extended amount of time and pairing with a hearty meal.

Silver Oak Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Silver Oak's exceptional 2010 Napa Cabernet earned big praise from James Laube in a blog post pulished on 3/30/2015 on Wine Spectator's website, along with the wine's highest rating in over two decades!
92 Wine Spectator
"Shows a good touch of bottle age and a notably oaky presence, marked by dill, vanilla bean and coconut notes wrapped around a rich, authoritative, full-bodied core of dark berry, licorice, dusty, loamy earth and espresso. Drink now through 2028."

Penfolds "Bin 169" Coonawara Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

95 Our Score
98 James Halliday
(9/2013) "A single vineyard wine, matured for 14 months in new French oak in which it finished the final stages of its fermentation. The bouquet is laden with cassis of startling purity, and while cedary oak is a major player, it is so well-integrated it doesn't overwhelm, let alone challenge, the fruit."

Tolaini "Picconero" Toscana Rosso 2010

94 James Suckling
94 Wine Advocate
(10/2014) "A compelling blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, the 2010 Picconero Tenuta Montebello packs a powerful punch in terms of density and concentration. This expression is rich and chewy with dark cherry and blackberry as protagonist. Solid supporting roles are played by tobacco, spice and bitter dark chocolate. The 2010 vintage shows a superior sense of finesse and silkiness in the mouth. Picconero can be put aside for long cellar aging."

Fattoria di Felsina "Fontalloro" Tuscany Rosso 2010

94 James Suckling
94 Wine Advocate

94 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(8/2013) "The 2010 Fontalloro (Sangiovese) is impeccable. A sweet, open bouquet melds into expressive red fruits. Compared to the 2010 Rancia, Fontalloro is a decidedly more delicate, feminine wine. All the elements are very nicely balanced. I expect the 2010 will enjoy a fairly broad window of drinkability. Today I give the 2010 a very slight nod over the 2009, only because I think the 2010 will age a little longer, but both are striking."
