Chateau Montrose St. Estephe 2014

96 Wine Advocate
97 James Suckling
97 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(2/2017) "The 2014 Montrose is without question one of the standout wines of the vintage. Black cherry, plum, smoke, licorice and lavender are some of the many aromas and flavors that open up in the glass. But the 2014 is a much deeper wine than just a bunch of descriptors can conjure. In 2014, Montrose is a wine of exceptional finesse and polish. The late-ripening vintage allowed for perfect maturation of the tannins and resulted in a silky wine that exudes class and pedigree. The 2014 is not an obvious or bombastic Montrose, but rather a wine of sublime enchantment. Don't miss it! Drinking window: 2024 - 2054."

Chateau Clos Fourtet St.-Emilion 2014

97 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(2/2017) "A stunning, breathtaking wine, the 2014 Clos Fourtet is without question one of the stars of the vintage. Deep yet also wonderfully nuanced, it exudes energy and transparency. Enticing scents of violet, lavender, mint and chalk add to the wine's chiseled personality. The 2014 has gained considerable depth, volume and intensity since I tasted it from barrel as a young wine, but without losing its intensely mineral, understated personality. Today, it is exceptionally beautiful in every way. The blend is 89 % Merlot, 7 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 4 % Cabernet Franc. Tasted three times. Drinking window: 2020 - 2039."

Chateau Monbousquet Saint-Emilion 2014

93 James Suckling
93 Wine Spectator
(3/31/2017) "Not shy, with hefty fig paste and blackberry pâte de fruit notes backed by a rumble of bramble, ganache and licorice snap. Underneath roils a base layer of tobacco and graphite that should slowly surface with time. May have pushed the extraction envelope ever so slightly, but this keeps it together in the end. Best from 2022 through 2032."

(2/2017) "The 2014 Le Thil has turned out nicely. Sweet red cherry, flowers, mint and pipe tobacco give the wine its distinctive aromatic signatures, while silky tannins add to an overall impression of grace and creaminess. Drink 2017 - 2026."

Chateau Cote de Baleau St Emilion 2014

90 Wine Spectator
90 James Suckling
90 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(2/2017) "The 2014 Côte de Baleau is a juicy, straightforward wine to drink now and over the next few years. Sweet red cherry, mint, anise and dried flowers are nicely layered throughout. Today, the 2014 comes across as quite supple and open-knit, but with a bit less depth than it showed from barrel. Even so, the 2014 is quite pretty. I would prefer to drink it over the next handful of years. Tasted two times. Drink 2017 - 2025."

Chateau La Prade Francs Cotes de Bordeaux 2014

90 Wine Spectator
91 James Suckling
90 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(2/2017) "The 2014 La Prade is absolutely delicious. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, chocolate, tobacco and spice are pushed forward in a tasty Merlot/Cabernet Franc blend to drink now and over the next few years. Time has helped the 2014 come together very nicely. This is yet another strong 2014 from Nicolas and Cyrille Thienpont. The blend is 90 % Merlot and 10 % Cabernet Franc. Drink 2017 - 2024."

Chateau Lagrugere Bordeaux Rouge 2014

88+ Our Score
(9/2016) Juicy, delicious and oh-so-drinkable, the 2014 Lagrugère Rouge manages to capture the character of Bordeaux for a way less than normal price! A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot, this medium-bodied, soft and immediately drinkable wine offers up flavors of fresh blackberry, black raspberry and plum along with notes of tobacco and gritty, chalky earth. It is amazing the team at Château Lagrugère was able to put so much pleasure into a bottle we're able to sell for $8.99. Pair it with fall soups, roast chicken, pizza or even burgers. We really love this one. It's drinking great now and will continue to do so for at least several more years.
