Xavier Vignon "Cuvee SM" Cotes du Rhone MV

A multi-vintage blend from Xavier Vignon, the master of Chateauneuf-du-Pape!

(10/30/2014) "The NV Côtes du Rhône S.M. is thrilling stuff. Made from equal parts Grenache and Syrah and aged half in concrete and half in barrel, it offers a full-bodied, voluptuous and decadent style to go with overflowing notes of plum and darker fruits, licorice and violets. Gorgeous on all counts, it's a shockingly good Côtes du Rhône to drink over the coming 4-6 years, although I wouldn't be surprised to see it last even longer."

Sans Liege "The Transcendentalist" Santa Barbara County Red Blend MV

Wow! This powerful red blend offers up an insane amount of character and complexity. A combination of fruit from the outstanding 2012, 2013 and 2014 vintages, Wine Advocate calls it a "smokin' value" at $29. We're more than five bucks less!

(8/2016) "Another non-vintage release is the NV Transcendentalist, which is made from 49% Syrah, 27% Grenache and 24% Mourvedre and includes grapes from 2012 through 2014, with each vintage seeing a touch less elevage/time in oak. Made in the rich, unctuous, decadent style of the estate, yet with rock solid purity and balance, this full-bodied effort offers tons of ripe black fruits, ground herbs, liquid smoke and pepper aromas and flavors. It's a smokin' value to drink over the coming 4-5 years."
