(3/2010). "Voerzio's 2005 Barbera d'Alba Riserva Vigneto Pozzo dell'Annunziata flows with layers of fresh, mineral-infused dark fruit. Sweet, round and impeccably pure, the wine offers exceptional balance and gorgeous overall harmony."

Quintarelli Recioto della Valpolicella 2001

Recioto is the semi-sweet version of Amarone and is actually the style that predates the dry version. After the Corvina and Rondinella grapes have been dried on wooden racks for 4 months, they are pressed yielding small quantities of juice. The wine is then aged for at least 8 years in neutral barrel. This is an extremely special bottle and it will be perfect as a dessert.

Brovia "Rocche di Castiglione" Barolo 2011

95 Our Score
94 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(3/2015) "The 2011 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione is sweet, floral and wonderfully expressive, all Brovia signatures. Silky tannins provide the backdrop as this sensual, polished Barolo shows off its class. Perfumed notes are woven throughout, but it is the wine's exceptional textural finesse that stands out most. Hints of hard candy, mint, cinnamon and succulent red cherries add the final shades of dimension. In 2011, the Rocche stands out for its total sense of class. Drinking window 2018 - 2036."

Roberto Voerzio "La Serra" Barolo 2008

95 Wine Spectator
96+ Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(4/2012). "The 2008 Barolo La Serra emerges from the glass with dark red fruit, tar, smoke, licorice, spices and new leather. Today the 2008 comes across as surprisingly dark and masculine. The high-toned floral notes that are typical of this site have been replaced by a much darker, brooding register filled with tar, incense and black fruit notes. The wine freshens up beautifully with time in the glass as the aromatics become a bit more expressive. Voerzio's 2008 La Serra is a huge and hugely promising wine. The firm tannins argue for at least a few more years in bottle. A hint of rose petal lingers on the intese finish."

Tolaini "Picconero" Toscana Rosso 2010

94 James Suckling
94 Wine Advocate
(10/2014) "A compelling blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, the 2010 Picconero Tenuta Montebello packs a powerful punch in terms of density and concentration. This expression is rich and chewy with dark cherry and blackberry as protagonist. Solid supporting roles are played by tobacco, spice and bitter dark chocolate. The 2010 vintage shows a superior sense of finesse and silkiness in the mouth. Picconero can be put aside for long cellar aging."

Fattoria di Felsina "Fontalloro" Tuscany Rosso 2010

(8/2013) "The 2010 Fontalloro (Sangiovese) is impeccable. A sweet, open bouquet melds into expressive red fruits. Compared to the 2010 Rancia, Fontalloro is a decidedly more delicate, feminine wine. All the elements are very nicely balanced. I expect the 2010 will enjoy a fairly broad window of drinkability. Today I give the 2010 a very slight nod over the 2009, only because I think the 2010 will age a little longer, but both are striking."

Castello di Ama "San Lorenzo" Gran Selezione Chianti Classico 2013

94 Wine Spectator
(12/15/2016) "There's purity to the cherry, strawberry, floral and spice aromas and flavors is this red, which is firmly structured yet elegant and graceful, with sweet fruit matching the dusty tannins on the lingering finish. Best from 2018 through 2028. 180 cases imported."

Elena Fucci "Titolo" Aglianico del Vulture 2012

93 Our Score
94 Wine Advocate
(4/2015) "Elena Fucci's latest release is the 2012 Aglianico del Vulture Titolo. The wine shines bright with primary aromas of dark fruit, herb, oak spice and dark volcanic tones of crushed granite and smoke. Given the proven track record of this wine, I'd expect this vintage to age for 15 to 20 years without a hitch. The 2012 vintage was only slightly warmer than average and those ripe fruit flavors do a lot to round out and soften the firm tannic backbone of the wine. There's a notable point of acidity that helps the wine to achieve an impressive sense of balance. Elena Fucci has another successful edition of Titolo for us to enjoy over the years to come."
