Ata Rangi Martinborough Pinot Noir 2013

#5 Wine of 2015 - James Suckling
98 James Suckling
(7/28/2015) "A significant Pinot Noir that displays immense quality, depth and completeness. Very complex exotic spices, meaty charcuterie and game meats too. There's a whole array of different cherry fruit characters, hints of citrus zest and saffron, foresty bracken too. The palate has immense energy and depth yet treads lightly on balanced structure and even shape. Tannins wind out and around supple flesh; they gather and fan at the finish, acidity is bright throughout and the finish holds long. A masterpiece. Commanding and seductive pinot noir at its finest. Drink in 2019.

(2/2017) "Great concentration of melon and tropical fruit, this is fresh, elegant and not overpowering, unlike many Kiwi Sauvignons. Citrus and herbal characters are present with a tangy mouthfeel which keeps the wine fresh and alive. It will age well too."

91 Our Score
(5/2016) We've heard great things about the 2015 vintage in Marlborough and what we've found in the bottle has totally supported the hype! Founded in 2009 by former Cloudy Bay star Kevin Judd, Greywacke has fashioned a beautiful 2015, with a terrific balance of citrus fruits and chalky tension that lead to a long, delicious finish. This is the kind of kiwi Sauvignon we absolutely love to drink!

(3/31/2017) "Gooseberries and yellow plums mark the nose of this medium-bodied wine. Some grassy-herbal elements add freshness and nuance, while the finish is long, dry and filled with stone fruit."

Churton Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

90 Our Score
(10/2016) The 2015 Churton contains handpicked, estate-grown fruit from 14 parcels on Sam and Mandy Weaver's certified biodynamic property. The quality fruit, combined with 10 months of aging on the lees (88% stainless 12% neutral French oak), has provided a richness on the palate not found in most other New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Look for flavors of grapefruit, peach and melon with a touch of grass and anise. You will love this wine for its creamy texture, balance of fruit, herb and mineral, and for its completely dry finish.

Clos Henri "Petite Clos" Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

A certified organic New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc from one of Sancerre's top producers!
89 Wine Spectator
90 Our Score
(1/2015) Clos Henri is owned by the Bourgeois family in Sancerre who purchased the estate with the goal of producing New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc with a Loire Valley flair. With this new release, that's exactly what you get! Made from high density, young vine fruit, the 2014 Petit Clos is almost Pouilly-Fume-like in style with smoke, lemon and mineral leading the way. The fruit is ripe, with hints of passion fruit to remind you of the origin of the wine. This is a terrific Sauvignon Blanc.

Mahi Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

90 Our Score
(11/2015) Unusual for a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, a portion of the Mahi is fermented in neutral French oak barrels in order to add weight and texture. The result is a rich and clean wine with a wonderfully silky mouthfeel to complement the classic gooseberry, grass and orange flavors.
