Domaine Albert Mann Furstentum Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes Gewurztraminer 2012

93 Vinous, Ian D'Agata
92 Wine Spectator
93 Our Score
(11/2014) Observing organic and biodynamic practices, Domaine Albert Mann is viticulturally aligned with many of Alsace's best and most thoughtful growers. We tasted this dry wine with proprietor Jacky Barthelme (grandson of Alsatian vigneron Paul Blanck) and it really blew us away. Sourced from old vines within his Grand Cru "Furstentum" vineyard holdings, the wine is both pleasure giving and thought provoking. Classic Gewurz notes of potpourri, Asian spice, tropical flowers and fruits - including the defining lychee - all come into play. If you love exotic wines or are looking for the perfect pairing for Indian cuisine, do not miss this lovely and intriguing example of Gewurztraminer.

Andriano Alto Adige Gewurztraminer 2012

90 Our Score
(4/2014) Many of you are familiar with Gewurztraminer from Alsace, California and the Pacific northwest, but did you know that Gewurztraminer is thought to have originated in the city of Tramin in Italy's Alto Adige? The Andrian Gewürztraminer is the real deal, with aromas of lychee, jasmine and spice. Big fruit and floral flavors lead to a nice and peppery finish. Clean, precise and laser-focused.
