Domaine Jean Masson "Vieilles Vignes" Apremont Vin de Savoie 2014

90 Our Score
(5/2016) Located in the French Alps, Apremont is a Cru village in the wine region of Savoie. The grape variety is Jacquere, which produces dry, light-to-medium-bodied wines with high acidity and a uniquely crisp and stony character. The 2014 Jean Masson, from 80-100 year old vines, is absolutely terrific juice with a floral, apple and mineral-laden flavor that will leave you salivating and yearning for another sip!

Domaine Combelle Savoie Blanc 2015

90 Our Score
(5/2016) "Made from 100% Jacquere, from the mountainous Savoie region of Apremont, Combelle is the label from third generation vigneron Christophe Richel. This salty, citrus-infused, mineral driven wine tastes like a Gruner Veltliner crossed with a Muscadet. It is dense in the mouth, as many Alpine wines can be. Try it with roast chicken, summer salads or spicy fish tacos!

Charles Gonnet Chignin Vin de Savoie 2014

New low price! Regular Vin Chicago retail - $12.79!
90 Our Score
(7/2015) The appellation of Savoie lies in eastern France, near the Swiss and Italian borders. This deceptively dense, dry white from the Savoie sub-zone of Chignin is made from 100% Jacquere, a grape grown here and in Switzerland. A perfect summertime white, it offers flavors of banana, apple and nectarine. Medium-plus in acidity, it has just 11.5% alcohol yet gives surprising weight in the mouth. Super fresh, alive and fun.
