Primosic "Murno" Collio Pinot Grigio 2014

91 Our Score
(10/2016) A stunning wine here from a Tre Bicchieri-winning winery in northeastern Italy. From the first sip you will realize this is NOT your mother's Pinot Grigio! Extended skin contact during vinification gives this premium bottling from Primosic a luxurious mouthfeel and depth of flavor, with citrus, ripe stone fruit, minerality and spice. A perfect pairing for richer chicken and fish dishes, this versatile wine is ideal as a companion to a meal or for sipping it on its own.

Terlano Alto Adige Pinot Grigio 2015

90+ Our Score
90 Wine Advocate
(7/28/2016) "Cantina Terlano does a great job with this bright and refreshing white wine. The 2015 Alto Adige Pinot Grigio is the kind of wine that begs a second and perhaps a third bottle during one of those epic beachfront seafood meals that define Italian living. The wine is absolutely crisp and fine with balanced acidity that finds beautiful contrast against slightly sweet flavors of pink grapefruit, peach and passion fruit. You also get some distant hay and dried herb at the back. Drink this delicious Grigio within the next 18 months."

Santa Margherita Alto Adige Pinot Grigio 2015

Winemakers Notes
"This dry white wine has a straw yellow color. Its clean, intense aroma and bone-dry taste (with an appealing flavor of Golden Delicious apples) make Santa Margherita's Pinot Grigio a wine of great personality and versatility. Excellent as an aperitif, and ideal with seafood salads or pasta and rice dishes based on fish and shellfish. Also perfect with white meats, boiled or grilled fish and souffles."

(12/2015) It was Tony Terlato that introduced Americans to Santa Margherita back in 1979. Now, 36 years later, after building the brand into a powerhouse, the Terlato's relationship with Santa Margherita has ended. In its place,Terlato now bottles this tasty Pinot Grigio from hillside vineyards in the Colli Friuli Orientali DOC. You will find greater body, complexity and minerality than you've grown accustomed to from their former flagship. Look for gorgeous tangerine, orange cream and mineral flavor with good texture on the palate.

J. Hofstatter Suditirol-Alto Adige Pinot Grigio 2013

90 Our Score
(9/2014) J. Hofstatter is a fourth generation family owned winery founded in 1907. Located in the beautiful region of Alto-Adige, their wines are pure and expressive. This 2013 Pinot Grigio features delicious, ripe and juicy fruit flavors of yellow peach and bosc pear along with a rich and round mouthfeel. Typical of great examples of Pinot Grigio, there is just a touch of tannin and a hint of bitterness on the long finish. The acid is bright and lively and will stand up to rich pastas, seafood and chicken dishes.

Andriano Alto Adige Pinot Grigio 2014

92 James Suckling
91 Our Score
(3/2016) What a gorgeous Pinot Grigio! Fresh peach and pear complement pretty aromatics of stone fruit blossom and clean minerality. Classic Alto Adige (think high-altitude) acidity adds vibrancy to the wine's round and superb mouthfeel. Extra lees contact adds a bit of grip and texture making this a perfect companion to rich seafood and chicken dishes. Outstanding enough to be enjoyed all on its own too!

Colterenzio Alto Adige Pinot Grigio 2015

89+ Our Score
(9/2016) The undefeated champ of authentic, well-priced Pinot Grigio continues to be Colterenzio. This Alto Adige beauty is a Vin Chicago staple and remains one of our go-to recommendations for charismatic PG at a great price. Fleshy citrus and orchard fruit flavors are supported by a nervy finish and a plump mouth feel. Way more nuance and complexity here than your run-of-the-mill Pinot Grigio.

(10/2016) From beautiful vineyards in Italy's northernmost Alto Adige region, the Lageder family has been producing wine for over 150 years. Strong advocates of sustainability and biodynamics, their wines are outstanding. Tasting of Bosc pear and ripe lemon along with a hint of white peach and a suggestion of river stone minerality, their Pinot Grigio is balanced and tasty. It is a truly interesting wine, making a strong case for the nobility of this grape variety. A perfect white to enjoy by itself, at parties or to pair with almost any food.
