Domaine Fourrier 1er Cru "Les Goulots" Vieilles Vigne Gevrey Chambertin 2013

91-93 Burghound
91-94 Vinous, Stephen Tanzer
(1/2015) "Dark red with ruby highlights. Aromas of blueberry, raspberry, leather and game, lifted by a crushed stone element. In a supple, ripe style, but with terrific sappy intensity and lift to the crushed raspberry and mineral flavors. The tannins are fine-grained and sweet. A stunning example of this calcaire-rich premier cru."

Domaine Serene "Evenstad Reserve" Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2012

93 James Suckling

(3/2015) "The 2012 Pinot Noir Evenstad Reserve was picked from late summer after one of the driest on record. There was better heat accumulation, according to Erik Kramer, but he does not regard it has a hot vintage. It was a low yield at around 1.7 and 1.8 tons per acre, partly due to a preflowering cluster removal. The skin-to-pulp ratio was very high and it was raised in 65% new oak over 16 months. It has a deep garnet color. The bouquet is in stark contrast with strawberry pastille and raspberry coulis, hints of iodine developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy ripe red berry fruit interlaced with sea salt and white pepper. There is an undercurrent of gaminess to this 2012 that lends intrigue toward the finish that gently grips the mouth. Not as opulent as other 2012 Pinot Noirs that I have tasted, but clearly very well crafted by winemaker Erik Kramer and with a prosperous future ahead. Drink: 2016-2028."

Bruno Clavelier Chambolle Musigney 2008

92+ Vinous, Stephen Tanzer
90-93 Burghound
(1/2010) "This is even more elegant and refined than the Noirots and more complex aromatically as well with a minerally, cool and sublimely rendered pinot fruit that runs primarily toward the red side of the spectrum that is followed by beautifully detailed, racy and remarkably fine middle weight flavors that culminate in a linear and borderline strict finish as there is some austerity. This delivers a striking combination of power and finesse with excellent finishing drive. Drink: 2016+"

Egly Ouriet "Les Crayeres" Brut Blanc de Noirs Vieille Vignes NV

96 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(8/2016) "The NV Brut Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru Les Crayères Vieilles Vignes is one of the more refined, polished wines I have ever tasted from Francis Egly. Everything is simply in the right place. Mirabelle plum, hard candy, flowers, mint and chalk are all beautifully delineated in a super-classy, polished Champagne that showcases the Egly-Ouriet style at its very best. Lifted, gracious and precise, the Vieilles Vignes is simply magnificent. The 25% new oak is totally integrated, even at this early stage. This release is 60% 2009 and 40% 2008, a blend of vintages that could not possibly be more complementary. Disgorged November, 2015. Dosage is 2 grams per liter."

Chevillon "Les Prulieres" 1er Cru Nuits St. Georges 2012

91-93 Wine Advocate
90-93 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(1/2014) "Good bright, dark red. Discreet, pure, rather reticent nose offers red cherry and raspberry. Juicy, minerally and a bit youthfully imploded, offering terrific density and lift to the flavors of raspberry, strawberry and minerals. Lifted by a distinctly floral character I did not find in the last couple of samples. Solid and densely packed but juicy and light on its feet, finishing with serious but fine tannins and a saline touch. A superb showing today."

Domaine Henri Gouges "Les Pruliers" Nuits St Georges 1er Cru 2012

91-94 Vinous, Stephen Tanzer
93-96 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(1/2014) "Gouge's 2012 Nuits St. Georges Les Pruliers is less immediate than some of the other wines in the range. Here it is the crystalline purity of the aromas and flavors that stands out most. Violets, plums, licorice, sweet spices and tar are all woven together in a wine that shows the finesse Nuits can at times achieve. The tannins are firm yet also impeccable in their silkiness. Structurally quite classic, the 2012 will reward cellaring."

Patricia Green Cellars "Mysterious" Pinot Noir 2014

94 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
92 Wine Advocate
(4/23/2016) "The 2014 Pinot Noir Mysterious comes from the Dundee Hills; it includes 55% whole cluster fermentation and was matured in 33% new oak barrels. It has a very perfumed bouquet with blueberry and redcurrant aromas given lift by the new oak, a touch of sous-bois developing in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, quite sensual in the mouth thanks to its silkiness, very cohesive with cranberry, wild strawberry and a pinch of black pepper. It feels so lithe with a persistent finish that lasts 30 seconds. Like many to their 2014s, I love the purity here and it should give a decade's worth of pleasure, possibly more."

Beckham Estate Vineyard Chehalem Mountains Pinot Noir 2012

91 Our Score
(11/2015) Beckham Estate is a small, family owned vineyard and winery located in Willamette Valley's Chehalem Mountains. The 2012 vintage for Oregon is regarded as one of the greatest ever and Beckham has made one of their greatest wines in their short history. The 100% estate fruit was hand-harvested, hand-sorted, de-stemmed and whole berry fermented. The cool climate and high elevation of their vineyards yield a wine that is leaner and brighter compared to most, with strong flavors of earth, dried red flower petals and rocky earth that compliment the delicate cherry, strawberry and cranberry fruits. 15 months aging in French oak, 40% of which was new, adds further complexity in the form of baking spices and a round texture. Only 210 cases were bottled in March of 2014.

Belle Glos "Dairyman Vineyard" Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2012

Incredible value for one of the most sought after names in Pinot Noir!
89 Wine Spectator
(8/31/2014) "Intense, with rich, dense, vivid dark berry, rhubarb and mocha notes. A powerful expression of Pinot Noir that begs for some cellar time. Best from 2015 through 2023."

Pyramid Valley "Angel Flower Vineyard" Cannterbury Pinot Noir 2011

95 Wine Advocate
(1/2015) "You may think you know New Zealand wines but I can assure you that until you have tasted Pyramid Valley, you have no idea. In 2000 they planted vines in one of New Zealand's newest and remotest wine regionsso new and remote it still doesn't really have a name other than "North Canterbury". Claudia is the biodynamic green-thumb and Mike is the Burgundian trained winemaker in this small-scale, hands-on operation. Everything in the fields and winery is as natural as natural can be and anyone who has followed the wines over the years will know, from tasting if not knowledge, that Mike has tested the boundaries of no / low sulfur additions and now seems to have a knack for adding just-enough to ensure stability without compromising the couples' ethics. The results speak for themselves: astonishingly good, terroir-expressive wines that will challenge all your preconceptions. Pale ruby colored, the 2011 Angel Flower Vineyard Pinot Noir offers a ground-breaking New Zealand Pinot nose with an incredible floral perfume complimented by a complex savory / meaty character with bright red cherry and cranberry notes, classic violets and earthy forest floor hints. Medium-bodied, the wine is very elegant and perfumed on the palate with earth laced cherries giving way to the multi-layered and very long, minerally / ferrous finish. Harmonious and beautiful - truly impressive."
