Domaine Le Galantin Bandol Rose 2015

What is better than a delicious bottle of rose on a nice day? How about a magnum!
89 Our Score
(4/2017) This delicious bottling from Domaine Le Galantin comes from Bandol, the premier appellation for rose production in Provence. Winemaker Celine Pascale took over winemaking duties from her father who started the winery and continues to practice organic farming methods and traditional production. It is a refreshing blend of Mourvedre, Grenache, and Cinsault that brings a light appearance but packs a punch. A generous palate shows zippy blood orange, juicy red berries and candied fruits while finishing crisp and dry. Pop this on the patio with a dozen oysters and some friends!

Domaine de la Mordoree "La Dame Rousse" Tavel Rose 2016

91 Our Score
From the Rosé-only appellation of Tavel, this blend of 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 20% Cinsault is an absolute powerhouse. It is NOT for those that like their Rosé dainty and light. This is a bruiser of a Rosé, ideally served with grilled meat, and it wouldn't be out of line to pair this wine with steak, lamb, or even venison. We are in love with the way the big flavors mesh perfectly together and offer up something completely different than most other Rosés!

Domaine Benjamin Taillandier "6 Roses" Vin de France Rose 2015

90 Our Score
(3/2017) Benjamin Taillandier makes wines that are much lighter and lower in alcohol than what you would typically find in the Languedoc. His "6 Roses" rose is no exception. This is not your standard juicy fruit forward rose, but something much more complex. A year in the bottle has allowed the wine to shed the initial primary fruit elements and instead intensifies mineral flavors, chalky wet stone, cured meat, and tart raspberry. This bright blend of Cinsault, Syrah, and Carignan takes a little time to open but give it an hour or so and you will be intrigued by this unique rose expression.

Chateau La Mascaronne "Quat 'saisons" Cotes de Provence Rose 2016

90+ Our Score
(5/2017) The 2015 vintage of this wine was one of our absolute favorite Roses last year, and this 2016 bottling is just as good, if not better, showing a bit more top note tension. Blending Cinsault and Carignan from certified organically grown vineyards in the Cotes de Provence, La Mascaronne offers everything one could ask for in a bottle of Rose: delicious red fruit flavors, suggestions of herbs, minerality, a wonderfully rich mouthfeel, and lively, mouthwatering acidity to balance all the elements. Very well done!

Domaine de la Mordoree "La Dame Rousse" Cotes-du-Rhone Rose 2016

90 Our Score
A blend of 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 20% Cinsault, this "La Dame Rousse" bottling from Mordorée is year-in and year-out our most in-demand Côtes-du-Rhône Rosé. Deeper in color, weightier, and more powerful than most French Rosés, it is round and rich in the mouth, with deep red fruit tones, hints of pepper and roasted herbs, all balanced by a brisk, bright, lingering finish. This is a perfect "cocktail" Rosé, as it is generous enough to serve by itself, and will effortlessly stand up to all sorts of grilled meat, fish, or chicken.

89 Our Score
(5/2017) Always one of our most popular Roses, the 2016 Triennes offers a nice combination of floral, red berry and white fruit aromas along with flavors of melon, cherry, strawberry, apple and peach. Light, fresh and dry, it's another winner.

J. Mourat "Collection" Fiefs Vendeens Mareuil Rose 2016

88-89 Our Score
(4/2017) We've been huge fans of the red and white "Owl" wines from J. Mourat and are thrilled to now also have their Rosé. This dry pink wine - which comes in a very cool bottle - is sourced from western France, just south of Muscadet. Its blend of Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Negrette and Gamay is totally unique. Look for brisk red fruits, taut florals and a wisp of sea-air minerality, as the vineyards are located just a few miles from the Atlantic Ocean!

Domaine de Blais Cotes du Provence Rose 2015

90 Our Score
(6/2016) "A delicious, classically styled Côtes de Provence rosé, Domaine de Blaïs skillfully blends Grenache with Cinsault, Carignan and Syrah grown in sandy soil near Vidauban in the Var zone of Provence. Wild strawberry, pomegranate and just opened lillac flavors are zesty and tasty, making for a perfect Sunday afternoon glass, perhaps with some smoked trout and olives? We love Rosé!!
