Fattoria di Felsina "Fontalloro" Tuscany Rosso 2010

(8/2013) "The 2010 Fontalloro (Sangiovese) is impeccable. A sweet, open bouquet melds into expressive red fruits. Compared to the 2010 Rancia, Fontalloro is a decidedly more delicate, feminine wine. All the elements are very nicely balanced. I expect the 2010 will enjoy a fairly broad window of drinkability. Today I give the 2010 a very slight nod over the 2009, only because I think the 2010 will age a little longer, but both are striking."

Castello di Ama "San Lorenzo" Gran Selezione Chianti Classico 2013

94 Wine Spectator
(12/15/2016) "There's purity to the cherry, strawberry, floral and spice aromas and flavors is this red, which is firmly structured yet elegant and graceful, with sweet fruit matching the dusty tannins on the lingering finish. Best from 2018 through 2028. 180 cases imported."

La Serena "Gemini" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2010

92 Wine Spectator
96 James Suckling

(2/9/2016) "La Serena struts its stuff with the 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Gemini. This beautiful wine from Andrea Mantengoli is balanced, powerful and generous in terms of its aromatic delivery. The pristine and saturated color of the wine is already an indication of the high quality to follow. A seamless array of aromas includes dark cherry, spice, leather, balsam herb and crushed mineral. What the wine does do successfully is present an integrated bouquet that is finely stitched together. It offers similar smoothness in terms of mouthfeel. This is a great under-the-radar Brunello that needs more bottle aging for sure. Give it another five years."

Casanova di Neri "Tenuta Nuova" Brunello di Montalcino 2011

95 Wine Advocate
(1/22/2016) "This is another fabulous wine from Giacomo Neri. The 2011 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova is a deeply layered expression with bold tones of dark fruit that are softened and enhanced by spice, leather, tobacco and balsam herb. The wine is very beautiful and polished with slightly less depth and complexity compared the outstanding (100 point) vintage that precedes it. Despite the vintage variation, this is a wine of enormous pedigree and importance. It is generous and confident with a presentation that offers purity, intensity and persistence."

Leonetti Walla Walla Valley Sangiovese 2012

94 Wine Advocate
(6/2015) "The finest vintage of this cuvee to date, the 2012 Walla Walla Sangiovese exhibits brilliant black cherry, dusty spice, leather and crushed herb-like qualities to go with a medium to full-bodied, layered, exceedingly pure profile on the palate. The blend here is 80% Sangiovese, 12% Syrah and 8% Aglianico, all of which spent 22 months in neutral puncheons and oval botti. I don't have much experience with track record of this variety, but I've no doubt this will continue to evolve nicely for at least another decade."

Caprili "AdAlberto" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2010

(3/3/2016) "Caprili owns some of the most beautiful vineyards in Montalcino near Soldera (Case Basse) and Angelo Gaja's Pieve di Santa Restituta. The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva AdAlberto is a tight and powerful wine that does a great job of capturing the ideal growing conditions of the vintage. The wine is slightly closed and tightly wound at this point, but Caprili has a proven track record for long aging potential. It promises a slow evolution to those who have the patience to wait. Dark fruit, spice, cola and grilled herb rise to the forefront. In the mouth, the wine shows rich texture and plump, rounded tannins. I tasted this wine 24 hours after opening the bottle, and it showed a beautiful and increasingly elegant personality."

Altesino Brunello di Montalcino 2009

93 James Suckling
92 Wine Advocate
92 Wine Enthusiast
(5/1/2014) "Structured but poised, it opens with balsamic aromas of menthol, red berries, blue flower, Asian spices and a hint of new leather. The succulent palate offers dark cherry accented with notes of mint, lemon sage and chocolate alongside polished tannins and just enough freshness. It's delicious and already approachable so enjoy soon."

Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino 2011

94 James Suckling
95 Wine Advocate
(3/2016) "The 2011 Brunello di Montalcino shows an impressive level of richness and density that starts with a long succession of black fruit aromas, dried cherry, spice, leather and tobacco. There are evident hints of the warm vintage that become apparent thanks to the blackness of the fruit and the general softness of the aromas. The wine's texture is yielding and dense with extra layers of plump fruit and chewy richness. This the proverbial "restaurant Brunello" that will drink beautifully in the near and medium-term. It already tastes spectacular and is beautifully fleshed out at this young age."

Casanova di Neri "White Label" Brunello di Montalcino 2009

92-93 Our Score
93 Wine Advocate
(2/2014) "The 2009 Brunello di Montalcinois an impressive and impeccable wine that delivers a slow and sensual progression on the palate. Along the way, it leaves a steady stream of ripe fruit, spice, tobacco, licorice and balsam herb that is both impactful and vibrant. The wine's aromas are very well-delineated, clean and never color outside the lines. The textural fabric of the wine is velvety and rich, thanks to a long 43 monthsin oak. Having had the opportunity to taste many older vintages of Giacomo's wines, I find that they possess a great capacity for cellar aging. Drink: 2016-2026."
