Fattoria di Felsina "Fontalloro" Tuscany Rosso 2010

(8/2013) "The 2010 Fontalloro (Sangiovese) is impeccable. A sweet, open bouquet melds into expressive red fruits. Compared to the 2010 Rancia, Fontalloro is a decidedly more delicate, feminine wine. All the elements are very nicely balanced. I expect the 2010 will enjoy a fairly broad window of drinkability. Today I give the 2010 a very slight nod over the 2009, only because I think the 2010 will age a little longer, but both are striking."

(12/15/2016) "There's purity to the cherry, strawberry, floral and spice aromas and flavors is this red, which is firmly structured yet elegant and graceful, with sweet fruit matching the dusty tannins on the lingering finish. Best from 2018 through 2028. 180 cases imported."

Leonetti Walla Walla Valley Sangiovese 2012

94 Wine Advocate
(6/2015) "The finest vintage of this cuvee to date, the 2012 Walla Walla Sangiovese exhibits brilliant black cherry, dusty spice, leather and crushed herb-like qualities to go with a medium to full-bodied, layered, exceedingly pure profile on the palate. The blend here is 80% Sangiovese, 12% Syrah and 8% Aglianico, all of which spent 22 months in neutral puncheons and oval botti. I don't have much experience with track record of this variety, but I've no doubt this will continue to evolve nicely for at least another decade."

Caprili "AdAlberto" Brunello di Montalcino Riserva 2010

(3/3/2016) "Caprili owns some of the most beautiful vineyards in Montalcino near Soldera (Case Basse) and Angelo Gaja's Pieve di Santa Restituta. The 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva AdAlberto is a tight and powerful wine that does a great job of capturing the ideal growing conditions of the vintage. The wine is slightly closed and tightly wound at this point, but Caprili has a proven track record for long aging potential. It promises a slow evolution to those who have the patience to wait. Dark fruit, spice, cola and grilled herb rise to the forefront. In the mouth, the wine shows rich texture and plump, rounded tannins. I tasted this wine 24 hours after opening the bottle, and it showed a beautiful and increasingly elegant personality."

Uccelliera Brunello di Montalcino 2011

94 James Suckling
95 Wine Advocate
(3/2016) "The 2011 Brunello di Montalcino shows an impressive level of richness and density that starts with a long succession of black fruit aromas, dried cherry, spice, leather and tobacco. There are evident hints of the warm vintage that become apparent thanks to the blackness of the fruit and the general softness of the aromas. The wine's texture is yielding and dense with extra layers of plump fruit and chewy richness. This the proverbial "restaurant Brunello" that will drink beautifully in the near and medium-term. It already tastes spectacular and is beautifully fleshed out at this young age."

(9/2015) "Dark red cherry, plum, cinnamon and crushed rock nuances flesh out in the 2012 Fontalloro. Next to most of the other wines in the lineup, the 2012 Fontalloro is floral, perfumed, fresh and vibrant, with gorgeous aromatic lift, silky tannins and lovely overall balance. Fontalloro often opens up before Rancia, as is the case today, but the 2012 also possesses more than enough depth to drink well for a number of years. Still, the sexy, radiant finish makes me think most bottles won't be around to make old bones. Put simply, the 2012 Fontalloro is an arrestingly beautiful, showy wine built to please. And please it does."

Caprili Brunello di Montalcino 2011

(2/2016) "A dark, fleshy wine Caprili's 2011 Brunello di Montalcino wraps around the palate with sweet dark cherries, plums, tobacco, menthol, licorice and spices. Ripe, silky tannins and succulent fruit give the wine much of its open-knit, inviting personality. The warmth of the year comes through on the finish, where a kick of macerated cherry and a touch of warming alcohol add the final shades of nuance. The 2011 will drink well with minimal cellaring. Today, it is quite expressive for a young Brunello."

(5/2015) "Alluring aromas suggest perfumed berry, pressed flower, leather and forest floor. The vibrant palate delivers wild cherry, raspberry, cinnamon, white pepper and savory herb alongside firm, fine-grained tannins and bright acidity. Hand-crafted by a tiny gem of a winery located in the superb Santa Restituta area, it's radiant, well balanced and loaded with finesse. Drink 2018-2030. Cellar Selection."

La Serena Brunello di Montalcino 2011

93 Wine Spectator
90 James Suckling
91 Wine Advocate
(2/9/2016) "Here is a wine that flaunts its warm vintage characteristics with confidence. The 2011 Brunello di Montalcino is soft, richly layered and enormously plump from the start. It literally bursts out of the glass. The bouquet is redolent of cherry, pressed rose petal, spice and chocolate dustings. The complexity does not reach the high levels of previous vintages, but what the wine does offer is a fundamentally direct and opulent style that can be enjoyed in the near term."
