Tenuta dell'Ornellaia "Le Serre Nuove" Bolgheri 2011 3.0 LT

New low price! Regular Vin Chicago retail on this Double Magnum - $299.99!
94 Wine Advocate
94 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(9/2014) "The 2011 Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia comes across as tight and shut down today. There is plenty of depth in the glass, but less of the appeal I saw just a few months ago. The high tannins of the vintage and the relatively large amount of Petit Verdot (14%) are both very marked at this stage in the wine's life. Readers holding the 2011 are best off cellaring their bottles for at least another 1-2 years. The 2011 Le Serre Nuove is a powerhouse."

Tolaini "Picconero" Toscana Rosso 2010

New low price! Regular Vin Chicago retail - $99.99!
94 James Suckling
94 Wine Advocate
(10/2014) "A compelling blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, the 2010 Picconero Tenuta Montebello packs a powerful punch in terms of density and concentration. This expression is rich and chewy with dark cherry and blackberry as protagonist. Solid supporting roles are played by tobacco, spice and bitter dark chocolate. The 2010 vintage shows a superior sense of finesse and silkiness in the mouth. Picconero can be put aside for long cellar aging."

Tenuta di Valgiano Colline Lucchesi 2013

This organic and biodynamic foot-trodden bottling has been Tre Bicchieri for the last 11 straight vintages! Only 833 cases produced.
93 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(11/2016) "The 2013 Tenuta di Valgiano is gorgeous, although it will need time in bottle to be at its most expressive. Dark raspberry, pomegranate, spice, mint and blood orange give the 2013 much of its exotic personality. The 2013 is a distinctly mid-weight Tenuta with bright acidity and considerable overall tension. I can't wait to see how the 2013 develops in bottle, as it has quite a bit of energy lying in reserve. Drink 2018 - 2033."

Monte Bernardi "Tzingana" Rosso Toscana 2011

91 Our Score
(6/2017) "Tzingana" is a classic Super-Tuscan style blend from the biodynamically farmed estate of Monte Bernardi. The blend is led by Merlot, at 45%, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petite Verdot comprising the balance in roughly equal parts. The wine is more modern in style, full-bodied with big dark berry flavors up front, while the supporting earth and herb notes offer genuine Tuscan character. Aged in both small and large barrels for 2 years, the wine's structure lends flexible drinking options: drink now with your favorite grilled meats, or hold for several years to discover more flavors that lie beneath. At this close-out price, what a delicious value!

Tenuta di Valgiano Colline Lucchesi 2011

New low price! Regular Vin Chicago retail - $57.99!
92 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(9/2014) "The 2011 Tenuta di Valgiano is super-ripe and intense to the core. Black fruit, leather, smoke, tobacco, blackberry jam and sage all flow effortlessly. Ideally, readers should cellar the 2011 for another year or two to allow some of the baby fat to melt away. The Tenuta di Valgiano is succulent and voluptuous, very much in the style of the year."

Tenuta di Valgiano "Palistorti" Colline Lucchesi Rosso 2013

89+ Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(11/2016) "The Palistorti di Valgiano is quite powerful and austere in 2013. The flavors are bright and intense, but not fully expressive today. Sweet red cherry, floral and saline notes abound in the 2013, a wine that will benefit from another year or two in bottle. Drink: 2018 - 2023."

Michele Satta Bolgheri Rosso 2013

91 Our Score
91 Wine Advocate
(10/2015). "Michele Satta's 2013 Bolgheri Rosso hits all the right buttons. This is a complete and generous wine with loads of bright fruit intensity followed by balanced notes of spice, leather and tobacco. These aromas are well measured to contrast one another. The mouthfeel is generous and round without going overboard. There is a great sense of balance and harmony here."

Tenuta di Valgiano "Palistorti" Colline Lucchesi Rosso 2012

New low price! Regular Vin Chicago retail - $22.99!
91 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(10/2015) "The 2012 Palistorti di Valgiano is bursting at the seams with personality. Juicy dark cherries, smoke, earthiness, licorice and violets are all super-expressive in the glass. Fleshy and boisterous, with plenty of intense, super-ripe fruit, the 2012 Palistorti di Valgiano delivers the goods, and then some. Drink this fleshy, immensely pleasing red over the next handful of years."
