Chateau Suduiraut Sauternes 2009

Everyone ought to have a few bottles of sweet wine in their cellar, and it might as well be something really, really good. Drink now or cellar for another few decades.

(2/2013) "The 2009 is one of the greatest wines ever produced from the estate. It has a riveting bouquet of quince, honey, pear and a touch of clarified butter that is beautifully defined, offering scents of yellow flowers with continued aeration. It is a little heavier and more intense than its peers at this stage. The palate is beautifully balanced with perfectly judged acidity and immense purity. The finish offers crisp honey, quince and clementine notes laden with botrytis that is counterpoised by wonderful acidity. It possesses an unerring sense of completeness and composure that is irresistible. Bravo! Drink now-2050." (France)

Chateau Coutet Barsac 2013

Wine #16 - Wine Spectator's Top 100 Wines of 2016!
96 James Suckling
96 Wine Spectator
(3/31/2017) "Unctuous and ripe, showing mouthfilling flavors of almond cream, ginger, heather honey and apricot, this will need time to unwind fully, but when it does, expect more pineapple, maple and singed orange notes, as this has some depth and power in reserve, as well as more than enough cut for balance. A beauty in the making. Best from 2018 through 2038. 2,833 cases made."

Chateau Coutet Barsac 2014

96 Wine Spectator
(3/31/2017) "This shows the vivid, racy side of Barsac, with streaming flavors of pineapple, yellow apple, green plum and white ginger, displaying lovely energy from start to finish. Ends with enough honeysuckle and orange blossom notes to balance the richness. Best from 2020 through 2035."

Chateau Doisy-Vedrines Barsac 2013

Stock up and drink over the next few decades!
94 Wine Spectator
(2016) "Still youthfully rambunctious, this is packed with pineapple, ginger, bitter almond and apricot flavors. Despite the heft and weight, this has a glistening acidity and a long bitter orange and maple finish, and should unwind slowly in the cellar. Best from 2018 through 2035. 3,000 cases made."

Chateau Raymond-Lafon Sauternes 2008

89+ Wine Advocate
88+ Our Score
(8/2015) Classic Sauternes at a great price. You won't find any vintage of Raymond-Lafon selling for less! Notes of tangerine and honey dance on the nose, followed by orange peel and vanilla on the palate. This approachable dessert wine from one of the benchmark producers of the region really blossoms after being allowed to breathe, with appealing hints of slightly singed pie crust emerging. Real Sauternes for a really special price.

Chateau Andrea Graves Blanc 2015

90+ Our Score
(3/2017) The Graves commune of Bordeaux is home to the region's best white wines. This excellent bottling blends 70% Semillon with 30% Sauvignon Blanc. The Semillon adds a floral, waxy, viscous frame while the brisk citrus, apple and bell pepper freshness on the mid-palate come from the Sauvignon Blanc. Try with spicy Asian soups, pasta Carbonara or beer can chicken!

Chateau Les Roques Loupiac 2009

92 Our Score
(4/2014) Located on the right bank of the Garonne River, opposite Barsac, the appellation of Loupiac offers some of the best sweet wine values in the world. As required by regulations, this offering from Chateau Les Roques was made with overripe botrytized grapes. The complexity of this "noble rot" gives the Les Roques a charming honeyed complexity that is rounded out with flavors of apricot, banana, pineapple and mineral. An awesome value here!

Chateau Le Gay de Saint Sulpice Bordeaux Blanc 2013

89+ Our Score
(6/2016) This dry white Bordeaux uniquely blends 25% Muscadelle with 45% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Semillon, creating a very rich and dense mouthfeel. Citrus and orchard fruits support a nervy mineral core. Directly imported into Chicago (at a favorable exchange rate), it's a great bargain for drinking now!

Chateau Lagrugere Bordeaux Blanc 2015

This amazing value is back in stock, and it's drinking great!
88 Our Score
(6/2017) We were bowled over by the sheer enjoyment we got from our sample bottle of this super-fun, all-occasion dry white wine. A blend of 50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Semillon, it offers flavors of ripe lemon, banana and yellow apple complemented by notes of pepper, almond and gravelly mineral. The wine has a rich texture, characteristic of the Semillon grape, yet finishes clean and lively as you'd expect from a Sauvignon Blanc. White Bordeaux of this quality is not normally available for this type of a price!
