Hartford Court "Highwire Vineyard" Russian River Valley Old Vine Zinfandel 2012

95 Wine Advocate
(12/2013) "The 2012 Zinfandel Highwire Vineyard, a site that is half head-pruned and half on a high wire trellising system, sees more new French oak (52%), and achieved 15.5% natural alcohol. A dense ruby/purple color is followed by a rich, full-bodied wine displaying lots of boysenberry, black raspberry and cherry fruit intermixed with hints of incense and Asian spice. Supple tannins and a big, pedal-to-the-metal, juicy, succulent style suggest it will drink well for 5-6 years. "

Martinelli "Giuseppe & Luisa" Russian River Valley Zinfandel 2013

93 Wine Advocate
(3/2016) "The 2013 Zinfandel Giuseppe & Luisa (16.3% as well) is another wine made from Jackass Hill clonal material. These are younger vines, but the wine displays plenty of black cherry liqueur, blackberry, charcoal, barbecue smoke, meat and almost Asian soy and spice. It is a full-bodied, full-throttle, pedal-to-the-metal style of Zinfandel to drink over the next decade. Luckily, this is the biggest cuvée of 2013 Zinfandel, checking in 664 cases total."

Bedrock Wine Co. "Monte Rosso Vineyard" Sonoma Valley Zinfandel 2013

94 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(1/2015) "The 2013 Zinfandel Monte Rosso is fabulous. A dark, opulent wine, the 2013 is endowed with magnificent power and richness. Inky blue and black fruit, smoke, licorice and dark spices meld together in the glass. The firm mountain are nearly buried by the sheer intensity of the fruit. Grilled herbs, smoke and lavender add nuance on the close. This is a fabulous expression of Monte Rosso, one of the most historic and pedigreed vineyards in northern California."

Ledge Vineyards "Dusi Ranch" Paso Robles Zinfandel 2014

93 Vinous, Josh Raynolds
(9/2016) "Dark purple. Heady, smoke- and spice-accented aromas of blackberry and cherry liqueur and incense take on a hint of Indian spices as the wine opens up. Lush and expansive in the mouth, offering palate-staining black and blue fruit preserve and fruitcake flavors that are lifted and sharpened by a vibrant mineral element. Becomes spicier and more energetic with air and finishes extremely long and smooth; velvety tannins lend gentle grip. Drinking window: 2019 - 2025."

Ridge "Geyserville" Alexander Valley Zinfandel Blend 2014

93 Wine Advocate
93 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
93+ Our Score
(4/2016) This vintage of Geyserville is a blend of 60% Zinfandel, 24% Carignan, 12% Petite Sirah and 4% Mataro. The wine pours a deep, glass staining purple with instantly intense aromatics. The depth produced by these 130 year old vines is immediately apparent as this Zinfandel-based blend leaps out of the glass with ripe, rich black fruits followed by seductive floral tones. The velvety palate of cherry and blackberry are deep and rich with that lifting floral note - all backed by lively acidity to keep the mouth watering. We were awed by the silky mouthfeel and expressive flavors.

Ridge "Pagani Ranch" Zinfandel 2014

93 Wine Advocate
92 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(6/2016) "The 2014 Pagani Ranch is the most immediate and obvious of the 2014 Zinfandels I tasted at Ridge. Ripe, forward and opulent, the Pagani will please readers who like a more flashy, up-front style. I expect the Pagani will offer most of its charms sooner rather than later, which makes it a terrific choice for drinking on the young side. I don't see the pedigree or complexity of the best Zinfandels in the lineup, but the Pagani is delicious. This site seems to naturally produce a riper style as full flavor development and tannin maturity only take place late in the season. Drinking window: 2016 - 2024."

Storybook Mountain Vineyards "Mayacamas Range" Napa Valley Zinfandel 2011

92 Our Score
93 Wine & Spirits
(4/2014) "This is Jerry Seps's basic estate zinfandel, and it's a confident beauty in 2011. The aroma invites you in with hints of roses and herbs, cool red berries and an open spice box of exotic scents. The texture leads you along with silken ease, offering fresh, friendly juice in a supple yet substantial structure. This isn't complex, but it's plush and delicious. Decant a bottle for roast quail stuffed with wild mushrooms."

Bedrock Wine Co. "Old Vines" California Zinfandel 2014

91 Wine Spectator
91 Vinous, Antonio Galloni
(2/2016) "The 2014 Old Vine Zinfandel is deep, rich and luscious, with plenty of up-front fruit and tons of appeal. More of a field blend than a true Zinfandel, the 2014 is soft and forward, with expressive red-fleshed fruit, bright acidity and terrific overall balance. The Old Vine is 77% Zinfandel and a generous 23% mixed blacks. Best of all, the Old Vine Zinfandel is a fabulous value. Drink 2016-2024."
