Vinous, Josh Raynolds
(4/2015) "Dark ruby. Aromas of fresh dark berries, vanilla and licorice, with a subtle floral overtone. Pliant black raspberry and cherry-vanilla flavors open with air to show appealing sweetness and good depth. A touch of cracked pepper adds cut to the finish, which clings with echoing sweetness and supple tannins. Drinking window: 2016 - 2023"
(10/30/2014) "The 2012s here are impressive. The classic 2012 Châteauneuf du Pape is a polished, elegant blend of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre that spent 16 months in small barrels. Showing the expected modern slant of this domaine, it has plenty of graphite, wood spice, and licorice in its core of darker, black raspberry-like fruit. Medium to full-bodied, nicely textured, with good acidity, it has an upfront feel, but should nevertheless evolve gracefully through 2024."
(2/28/2015) "Very solid, with a lovely core of raspberry pâte de fruit, cherry paste and plum sauce notes folded together, while graphite, fruitcake and dried anise accents fill in on the finish. Features a velvety feel overall. Best from 2017 through 2027. 500 cases imported."
