What We Think
Vin Chicago: 91 Points
(8/2025) Julien Pilon owns five hectares outside of Condrieu. This wine channels the famed variety of that village - with a surprising co-star! Indeed, his Viognier for the "Dahu" is blended with his friend's Petit Manseng from the southwestern French region of Jurançon. Spiced tangerine zest points to a touch of botrytis present in this 50/50 white blend, bringing fun exotic highlights to rich flavors of pineapple and herb-laced mango and orange marmelade. Bright acidity and stony structure keeps things very dynamic on the palate imbued with a waxy texture and loads of invigorating phenolic bitterness. Both fun to thoughtfully taste and drink throughout a meal of intensely flavored, highly-seasoned food.
