(9/2024) Impactful and inviting from the moment the cork is popped, the 2022 Silencieux has a luscious attack of fruit, a beautifully enduring finish, and the soft, silky tannins that are a Kirk Venge signature. Velvety and plump, it opens with plush notes of cassis, leather, roasted vanilla bean, cocoa powder, blueberry jam, and kirsch. Oxygen exposure coaxes further complexity with cinnamon, plum compote, cardamom, toffee, rosemary, macerated red apple skins, and Chantilly cream. Silencieux is a “wow” wine and is easily competitive against Napa Valley Cabs selling at twice its price. The value here is extraordinary!
