(7/31/2022) Very expressive and fruit-driven, with a gorgeous beam of raspberry, plum and cherry puree flavors stitched together seamlessly, while enticing red tea, incense and red licorice notes fill in throughout. Gorgeous mouthfeel through the lengthy finish, too. Grenache and Syrah. Best from 2023 through 2034. 200 cases made, 50 cases imported.

(11/3/2021) The 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Juline is an even split of Grenache and Syrah that was fermented and aged in new barrels. A classic wine from this estate, it has nicely integrated oak in its red and black fruits, toasted spice, vanilla bean, candied flower, and licorice aromas and flavors. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it has a layered texture and ripe tannins, yet it drops off on the finish surprisingly quickly. Nevertheless, I love its mid-palate, and the balance as well as the tannins are spot on. Give bottles 2-4 years in the cellar, and it's going to cruise for 10-15 years. Maturity: 2023 - 2040.
