Aptly-named lip stinger, Picpoul is famously one of the 13 grape varieties permitted in Chateauneuf-du-Pape, but its day job is making these zesty, briny, bargain beauties. This bottle's handy screwcap begs to be cracked anytime oysters or mussels are at the table - just like back home. Bright, almost prickly, acidity drives home notes of simply satisfying lemon, saline, white rock, grapefruit, yeast, tarragon and crisp white peach.
