What We Think
Vin Chicago: 91 Points
(12/2025) The Michel Arnould "Observation" is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay coming from the Grand Cru village of A Verzenay. It is vinified in 85% steel vats and 15% oak barrels, plus an addition of 26% reserve wine aged in oak. It was recently disgorged in April 2025 and its dosage is 6.5 g/l landing it right in the middle of it's "Brut" classification. This represents one of the best values on our shelf for an all-purpose style of Champagne that any and all Champagne lovers will enjoy. Look for notes of red apple, anjou pear, vine ripe peach and a touch of apricot, layered with subtle baking spices and a hint of brioche. Wonderful as a stand alone sipper, but rich enough to stand up to a hearty cheese board, or puff pastries.
